This NF-B of the life of Thomas Jefferson by Matt Doeden & illustrated by Gordon Purcell & Terry Beatty is an awesome resource for teachers! It‘s a biography that reads like a comic book! Great for students (like me) that think history text is boring! It‘s also full of fun facts for further understanding! Did you know Jefferson & John Adams were best friends & they both died on the same day?! Can be used for IR or PR. #ucflae3414sp18

LisaMart UDL: 2.5, 5.1, & 5.3 EL: 26, 28, 50. The back of this book offers other resources such as options to read more & an Internet site where more facts related to the book can be found. I took a picture of this page, & it can be seen above. Here is a link to an article about how to incorporate graphic novels into the classroom: https://education.cu-portland.edu/blog/classroom-resources/cross-curricular-comi... (edited) 6y
LisaMart And here is a scholastic lesson plan on Thomas Jefferson that this book can be used in: https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/thomas-jeffers... This book is also part of a series that includes other historical figures! (edited) 6y
DrSpalding Multiple resources! This is a graphic novel. Intermediate students are thoroughly enjoying this format. Excellent choice for a biography of one of our founding fathers. Obviously this can help teach social studies concepts. 6y
Jeffersleighann This book seems like something I would want in the classroom and I like that it is set up like a comic book which would make the history come alive! 6y
Kendallc I love how that you incorporated a subject that can be difficult for students to get invested in. This book seems really engaging 6y
