Spotted this in Corea, Maine. It's absolutely jam packed, all on the honor system. I would've loved to grab the tagged book but it was huge and weighed at least 15 lbs so I don't think it was gonna fit in my suitcase.
Woot! Just signed up for #bookandablanketexchange ! My first swap. @JoeStalksBeck and @Tiffy_Reads are the hosts.
One of my favourite books. Surprisingly poignant, funny, a true self-portrait of a complex man, worthy of the best novels. Pat Hackett mentions how Warhol used the number #18 to exaggerate. (As in, We went to 18 parties). The US postal service issued an 18c stamp in honour of Warhol in 2002. #novemberbythenumbers
A few of my artsy books. The tagged book was a gift from hubby a couple years ago, a complete surprise. And as big as it is, I found it absolutely unputdownable. Warhol dictated his daily happenings to Hackett, she would transcribe them, then submit to him -- that's how he did his diary over several years! (Thanks Liberty for the #SPACEJAM giveaway).
Went to the Blanton Museum of Arts today and came across an exhibit on Andy Warhol and his relationship with books.
When I was in high school I was SO intrigued by Andy Warhol. I read Famous for Fifteen Minutes and the Andy Warhol Diaries. Today I went and saw the Warhol Portraits exhibit at the Crocker Art Museum....SO good!
