The good news is, the author acknowledged it? But this was also nearly a year ago and I‘m reading an e-galley that I just downloaded last week, so I‘m curious as to whether she made any effort to edit after this feedback came in.

There have been a couple other things that struck me as poorly phrased if I were to give them a generous read, but this is blatantly incorrect and perpetuates middle readers‘ misinformation. I don‘t buy the whole, ā€Well Alec is a product of his environment and would have been taught that it was all women, not just white women,ā€¯ excuse. #NetGalley

I really enjoyed this middle grades read. It has everything- a new boy in town, a mysterious old house, a fortune teller, an investigation, magic, a hero, a villain, some history, a little feminism & multiple references to books/reading. What's not to like?

#bitmojimonday is probably my new favourite tag.. š‚
Started the day off to the garage to get my tyres switched out. No more heavy-duty winter tyres for Monty the Car!
Made a spontaneous decision to get all of my hair chopped off, which required phone calls.. which was less exciting than the end result, the fluffiest pixie cut in all of the land! Had a very boring dinner and am now off to the couch to read the tagged book š„š„š„
