A easy to read romance novel

Haven‘t read JL in years but thought I‘d give this a try and it wasn‘t bad. Uses the old trope of two men in a feud and the women whose “honor” they are caught up in destroying/defending. Some depth for the heroine & lively banter is reminiscent of the glory days of Lindsey‘s work but a far-fetched premise, a silly detour to allow the obligatory sex scene, an expected reveal, & hasty redemption arcs show that her old deftness is gone. #romantsy

I haven't read Lindsey in decades even though I love many of her novels.This was an enjoyable historical romance. It is not exceptional, but it was good.

I love a good regency. I like feisty, strong females. I like not super obnoxious alpha males. It was a good mix of anger, funny and a story that made me wonder how it will end.

Not the best of her work but still entertaining. #romantsy

Thank you Library for loaning me these lovely books. I hope the next reader appreciates them as much as I did. I don't dare enter your wonderful building because my August #TBR pile is already borderline unattainable. I'll be back in a few weeks!

This had a lot of the right pieces, but somehow they didn't go together in a totally satisfying way for me. Still, it had a lot of the tropes I immediately show up for and was a pleasant evening's read. (Look at all the restraint I showed in NOT making a title reference pun.)

It's been years since I last read Johanna Lindsey. This was a typical romance with the plot and characters, but it also had an unexpected twist. I was really surprised and in a good way.

In the mood for a margarita, a romance novel, and Harry Potter (waiting for my son to finish the new book).

Lots of great new releases at my library. I chose a romance to counteract Barkskins which I'm currently reading.

This was better than her last few novels. More of her classic regency romance and while predictable...it was also entertaining.

Ever since I sneaky read my first Fabio covered Johanna Lindsey romance in high school I've been addicted. So glad I got number 1 on the wait list at the library for this one! PS: Anthony Mallory is my favorite book boyfriend 😍
