Witch Week (The Chrestomanci Series, Book 3)
Witch Week (The Chrestomanci Series, Book 3) | Diana Wynne Jones
Glorious new rejacket of a Diana Wynne Jones favourite, featuring Chrestomanci now a book with extra bits! SOMEONE IN THIS CLASS IS A WITCH When the note, written in ordinary ballpoint, turns up in the homework books Mr Crossley is marking, he is very upset. For this is Larwood House, a school for witch-orphans, where witchcraft is utterly forbidden. And yet magic keeps breaking out all over the place - like measles! The last thing they need is a visit from the Divisional Inquisitor. If only Chrestomanci could come and sort out all the trouble.

Jones creates a school full of loveable and hateable students and tells this story in an interesting manner. I liked it a lot better now rereading it with my husband, but didn't care for this when I first read it as a teen. It's an interesting entry in the Chresomanci series. #Witches #Magic

I enjoyed this but it has a very different feel than the first three I read. The story is set in an alternate world where magic is illegal unlike the other worlds where it is openly practiced. I found this installment was slow to start and only got really interesting once the magic started showing up.

Late night reading with my girl Sierra. This story has a different feel from the previous in the series so I‘m wondering what will happen next. #CatsOfLitsy

thegirlwiththelibrarybag @laurenduke300, Bubbles won my heart in the episode where she went HARDCORE when she got tired of being underestimated because she was ‘sweet‘ - 😂! Buttercup is pretty excellent as well! 4y

You never quite know what is going to turn up when you buy books via eBay, but I was quite happy with this retired school book, first edition of #WitchWeek by Diana Wynne Jones

Continuing with what *I think* is Book 3 of Diana Wynne Jones's Chrestomanci series.(It might be Book 4. It's not quite clear...) But this one is just right for the season!

My Halloween-themed #signedsundays photo:
Witch Week by the late, great Diana Wynne Jones.

I never met her. I bought this signed.
I am not Eva.
But I sure wish I knew what she said!

Yes, now I am being obnoxious and just showing off more of my various copies/covers for Witch Week. But can you blame me? Only awesome books can inspire so many amazing covers!

A school for witch orphans. Where magic is strictly forbidden. And yet magic keeps popping up. Time for a visit from the always well dressed and enigmatic Chrestomanci!

Obviously, someone in this class is a witch because people on the covers fly on brooms! Of course it's not that cut & dry in this fun Chrestomanci novel.
