pickI am remiss in not studying philosophy. I cannot get enough of it these days. I guess maybe I had to be at a certain place in life to be a huge seeker of wisdom and onward I will certainly go. “We must spend time in study of the writings of wise men (women) to learn the truths that have emerged from their researches and carry on the search ourselves for the answers that have not been discovered.”-Seneca ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

pickI‘ve relied on Seneca‘s Stoicism to help maintain my equanimity at work. When horrible things and situations keep popping up on the unit, a Stoic nurse is a sane nurse. In the field of healthcare, it‘s important to remember that nothing is unimaginable. There‘s always something worse around the corner. I have Seneca to thank for helping me keep my expectations low and being composed under pressure.
It is not the man who has too little that is poor, but the one who hankers after more.
Until we have begun to go without them, we fail to realize how unnecessary many things are. We've been using them not because we needed them but because we had them.
I just couldn‘t pass up this beauty. The cover is gorgeous!
pickWhat I liked most is that the first 30 or so letters end with quotes from and references to the main rival philosophical school, the Epicureans, which Seneca almost without exception praises. #Stoicism
