So here's my 'plan' for #Booked2019 winter, using books I own. Fairly safe to say, whatever I read, it won't be these six!
1. Female detective: Lobster Boy & The Fat Lady's Daughter or Lethal white
2. Fairytale reselling: Snow Child or Hazel Wood
3. Happy Place (poring over maps): Map of the Nation
4. Podcast: The Sea Around us (Reading Envy 133) or Mythos (RE 132)
5. Irish author: Marian Keyes
6. New to me author: Jean Rhys - Wide Sargasso Sea

rockpools @Itchyfeetreader I think 'unrealistic' might be the word you're looking for - aiming for 1 per season's a much better idea! I thought I'd see if I could do it all from books on my shelves- now I know I can, I'll probably read something totally different 🙄. Hope you're keeping well x 6y

rockpools @TrishB reckon you've earned a mega-lie-in tomorrow! Glad you're up and about tho. Have to confess to wimping out of the gym this morning- couldn't face the galeforce winds (it was seriously vile.) Other than that tho, I'm really enjoying it. Most bizarre! 6y
rockpools @Itchyfeetreader You really seemed to hit the ground running when things finished! Hope you have a decent break in December to catch up with yourself? I'm still trying to drag myself back to work 😬. Had my post-rads check on Tuesday, so time to get moving again now. I'm great until I actually have to do anything! They tell me it takes time ...😉 6y
Itchyfeetreader @RachelO I was really silly. I went to a meeting for a few days, powered through on Adrenalin and then felt like I couldn‘t not go back. Then once it was in a bit of a roller coaster of being mentally engaged and physically exhausted. That said my boss is amazing and has been only helpful in letting me take each day as it came. Hindsight and I should have played it differently. Am now using some holiday days to break it up! 6y
Itchyfeetreader Anyway I would say take each day and you‘ll be surprised when you look back after a few how far you have come. If you can do that without work so much the better. Am a new convert to one thing at a time (we‘ll see how long it lasts !!!😂) look after yourself x 6y
rockpools @Itchyfeetreader Glad your boss is being so supportive - and break days are good! I'm self-employed & nervous of diving back in without a support network to pick up the pieces when I misjudge things (because, let's face it, it will happen!). But think I'll start emailing out tomorrow, see what's out there. You take care too - and stick with that 1 day at a time thing. (I'll give it a go!!) x 6y
LauraBeth I took Marion Keyes books along with me on my Honeymoon (forever a go) and now every time I see one of her books, I think about reading her on the beaches of Cozumel. ❤️ (edited) 6y
rockpools @LauraBeth How wonderful! I had to Google Cozumel - and now I'm wanting to plan a holiday 😎- it looks beautiful! I really don't know why I haven't read her before - she's so funny when she's on tv. Looking forward to that one now! 6y
