After a long day of prepping a house for painting, all Gus Berry wanted was the night off, to spend some time with his girlfriend, and relax before having to return to work the next morning. But that isn't going to happen.Because Gus's co-worker Benny has found a one-night job at the local Mollymart East, a job that has to be done by morning. If Gus and his paint crew can complete the work by then, it could mean huge business with a respected, established grocery store chain. But as Gus and his fellow painters soon discover, the much-anticipated zombie apocalypse doesn't start with a bang. It starts on a Monday. And barricading themselves inside a megastore isn't the end. It's just the beginning.A prequel novel to the "Mountain Man" survival horror zombie series. Contains violence and coarse language. Contains 77,000 words or approx. 244 pages.Series order:Mountain Man: Prequel"The Hospital" (free short story online--or found in "Bones and Needles" collection.)Mountain ManHellifaxWell Fed

You know what? Add this to your TBR right now. It's not a recommendation, it's a command. I have spoken. If you have read the first 4 books of the series, then you already know the ultimate outcome, but this book, the prequel to it all, is so entertaining that it'll have you laughing, shaking your head, pumping your fist in anger, and crying. That's right, all of those.

Just finished listening to this & I have to urge to listen to the whole series again! Blackmore‘s characters are realistic, they crack me up, & make me feel for them. It‘s a realistic 🧟‍♂️ book series that focuses on the characters. Unlike any show or zombie book I‘ve read before. Yes, Gus does a lot of ball scratching. Just get over it & let the man take care of business since we don‘t know if he‘ll get to do it later. #audiobook #RCBray #zombie

Was also able to start this #audiobook during the #24in48 #readathon. I have enjoyed this series which is not your typical zombie story, it‘s more than that. It‘s also a different style of writing. It is witty, entertaining, and very engaging. I just couldn‘t pass up listening to the prequel. #RCBray is also a great narrator, he also narrated The Martian and Hell Divers. My total of 23hrs & 12mins read wasn‘t bad for my 1st #24in48readathon!

I chose to kick off #24in48 with Mountain Man: Prequel by Keith C. Blackmore because the original omnibus is beyond amazing. It's not your typical zombie story by any stretch and the references made in the Prequel are really hitting. So far, it's a 10/10 for me.

Recently finished his newest, Mountain Man Prequel. I found it to be the one I least liked of all of them. Still a good read to see Gus before the zombie apocalypse, but not as strong as the other books in the series.

RJNC Thank you @RaimeyGallant . I‘m really enjoying Litsy. One thing, is that I wish I could add books. It‘s list of books isn‘t that comprehensive. 7y
RaimeyGallant Good point. There used to be a way, and I asked recently in the help section, and they said I could leave the name of the book and author there. 7y

Couldn't find the actual book on here. Nevertheless, it's due to the Mountain Man series that I found this one.

I'm not much of a fan of ebooks, but since my back is in pain and my books are downstairs I decided to give it a go. Just started it and I'm hooked after the first chapter.

Isosceles Moon by Keith C. Blackmore

Lcsmcat I hope your back feels better soon! 7y
Mimi28 I don't like ebooks either. All those little $2.99 deals add up and I have not finished one. My back is bad also, mostly from laying directly under the fan. Hope you feel better!! ❤️❤️❤️ 7y
TheBookAddict @Lcsmcat @Mimi28 thanks! I'm feeling better, I just have to make sure I don't hurt it again today. 🙂 7y
Lmstraubie Hope your back is feeling better soon! 7y

Never trust the easy ones. I'm sure that's what Jack was saying back to Gus.

cant_remove_my_account 💜💜💜 this series! 8y
KennethTolesJr It's awesome right?! 8y
cant_remove_my_account @KennethTolesJr It is! Gus is the total opposite of the typical zombie apocalypse hero. But you can't help but love him. 8y
KennethTolesJr True. The reveal of his brother shocked me to the core. 8y

"I swallowed some." So nasty! This is a really good book. R.C. Bray brings books to life with his narration.

Another zombie novel (my second). An audiobook narrated by one of my favorites. I have the omnibus, which contains books 1-3. Excited! 🤓📚💕

Some books are better heard, and that's definitely true for he Mountain Man series. R. C. Bray makes the whole experience come alive for me.
