Martin Luther's Ninety-five Theses
Martin Luther's Ninety-five Theses | Martin Luther, Stephen J. Nichols
5 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
To combat abuses in the church of his day, the young German monk drafted nearly a hundred propositions for public debate. Martin Luther posted these "theses" on the church door in Wittenberg, an action that helped to give birth to the Reformation. Nearly everyone has heard of the Ninety-Five Theses. Editor Stephen J. Nichols has written an introduction and explanatory notes (located on facing pages).--From publisher's description.

We have a public holiday today in Germany today, to celebrate 500 years - to the day - since Luther started the Reformation by (apocryphally) nailing his 95 Theses to the door of a church in Wittenberg. To celebrate, here is my little special-edition Playmobil Marty posing with some paraphenalia from Luther-related exhibitions I've been to this year. #germanlyf #reformationstag

This is almost next on #mountTBR and certainly counts for #truths and the pursuit thereof.
