16 posts | 34 read | 5 to read
"Just As Long As We're Together" Rachel is Stephanie's best friend. Since the second grade they have shared all their secrets, good and bad. So when Alison moves in, Stephanie hopes that the three of them can be best friends because Stephanie really likes Alison. After all, they have even more to share now, including seventh grade and Jeremy Dragon, the cutest boy in junior high.Even though the three of them live in a quiet Connecticut neighborhood, there's a lot going on in their lives. Stephanie wishes her father didn't have to work so far from home and she worries that Rachel's talents will get in the way of their friendship. Rachel and Alison have to deal with the changes in their own lives, yet Stephanie is sure everything will work out fine--"just as long as we're together...."

It‘s another title by Queen Judy Blume for Episode 68 of my podcast, and I couldn‘t be happier to have Caroline Moss (of Hey Ladies! fame) to discuss it with me. Tune in to today‘s ep to hear us chat about 1987‘s Just as Long as We‘re Together and all things friends, family, trios, body image, and Richard Gere posters. 👯‍♀️ Link to listen in bio!

Just as Long as We‘re Together, Young Readers List, young adult fiction, author study. This book is based on themes best friends Stephanie, Rachel and Allison who are best friends since second grade. They tell each other everything the good and the bad. They share their childhood crush Jeremy, the cutest boy in Junior High. This is an adorable book that many young girls can relate to. CWalters What would the dictionary be used for? The link takes me to author teaching a writing course and access is $90. This doesn‘t help. 5y

#LiteraryLuck day 21 Do you Remember

I was not sure what book to choose for this prompt, so I decided to go with something nostalgic.

I did not actually read much Judy Blume as a kid, but this is the first of her books I read, and it is just so good! I remember being in awe at how well Blume actually understood teens/pre teens.

I still think nobody does it better.

mcipher That book looks so well-loved! 🥰 6y
Purrfectpages I used to be obsessed with this book. 6y

It‘s #sundaysurvey time! Repost with your answers & tag me 👌🏻☺️

1. Neil Gaiman & Laini Taylor — even though I sadly DNFd her last book, I think they would write something amazing together!
2. Just As Long As We‘re Together by Judy Blume
3. I‘d love to learn how to do cross-stitch so I could make snarky, curse-laden ones as gifts 😜
4. 40 miles from the hospital, about 27 from the house we lived in my whole childhood

GirlNamedJesse Oooh Neil Gaiman and Laini Taylor could be awesome!! 6y
alisonrose @GirlNamedJesse Right?? I feel like their world building would totally mesh well together 6y

Hey all! I figured for my #firstpost I would post my all time favorite book. My original copy is from 1993 or 1994, and my parents have gotten me two newer copies as gifts over the years. As you can see, my original no longer has the top cover (it was the yellow cover), and the pages are swollen and yellow. I do have Here's To You, Rachel Robinson, but only one copy of that (it's not as good, haha). ;)

When I moved across the country a few years ago I had to get rid of so much, leaving me with very few items from my childhood. I held onto this book though - I must have read it at least a dozen times as a pre-teen, and having the inscription from my mom means so much as we lost her almost a decade ago. I owe my love of reading to her, and she loved to gift us books “just because”. 📚❤️

lizsassymolassy I have this same edition but the front cover is long gone due to being read so many times! 7y

My first thought for #youremybestfriend . Funnily, when I looked this up on Litsy, I used this book four months ago for another photo challenge!

Blume addresses friendship and the inclusion of others - what happens when a new girl moves into He neighborhood, and your once best friend status becomes a group of three? #rocktober

One of my favorite books when I was a kid. I found this image on Wikipedia; my particular copy is a different edition and still needs unpacked. Judy Blume captures adolescence issues so well. #startswithj #SplashIntoSummerReads

Purrfectpages One of my childhood favorites, too! 7y
Librarybelle I have vivid memories of carrying it to school and placing it carefully on my book shelves in my bedroom, @Purrfectpages . 7y

It's Judy Blume month for book club! Everyone remembers Deenie, Are You There God, It's Me Margaret, and Forever, but this was one of my favorites growing up. I was happy to revisit it and it was amazing how many small details I remembered.
