The Banshee by Eve Bunting is a captivatingly creepy tale about a boy who must overcome his fears about a long ago story that has been told from one generation to the next. It is being categorized as Irish folklore. I'll put it under either MF,SF. The UDL 9.1 regarding promoting expectations and beliefs that optimizes motivation along with 1,3 for teach questioning for clarification & encourage self-talk (positive thinking). #UCFLAE3414F19 #CMC

Tinks A nice spooky little book to read during this time of year. Make sure you are under the covers, feet off the floor, and a flashlight on hand. Wonderful read for all ages and a must-have for every classroom library. This book was also awarded the Caldecott medal. UCFLAE3414F19 #CMC 5y

#BlackCatChallenge Day 22: I‘ve always been fascinated with banshees. They seem more mysterious and ‘less-mainstream‘ compared to #vampire(s), witches, fairies and werewolves – yet they manage to scare you out of your wits with their wraith-like figures and their screaming keening wailing.
