Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds
Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds | David Goggins
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare -- poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a U.S. Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him "The Fittest (Real) Man in America." In Can't Hurt Me, he shares his astonishing life story and reveals that most of us tap into only 40% of our capabilities. Goggins calls this The 40% Rule, and his story illuminates a path that anyone can follow to push past pain, demolish fear, and reach their full potential.

If you want to master the mind and remove your governor, you'll have to become addicted to hard work. Because passion and obsession ,even talent, are only useful tools if you have the work ethic to back them up.

As a top endurance athlete & a former Navy SEAL, I think David Goggins is the epitome of #fortitude 🏃🏿🏊🏾🏋🏿‍♀️💪🏾
I first became aware of him in Living with a SEAL & bought this audiobook when it came out. I need to finish listening to it one of these days. So many books so little time! 📚📚📚😬📚📚📚📚📚

I like the last chapter, where he has become more mindful. From rage and pain and just keeping pushing through in life, to calm and retrospect and conscious surrender to find peace of who you are and who you truly want to be, I am really happy to find he‘s made the transformation.

So good. Motivational. Read during my winter trip at Joshua tree. Endurance athlete and Navy Seal talking though his struggles to overcome his mind, body, and past to endure though everything he does though hard work and dedication to push himself to do the best he can be and push himself to the limits. Ready for the new year!

I just started this audiobook last week finally, listening to it on my morning commutes. I wouldn‘t mind having Dave Goggins #RescueMe 😍As a Navy Seal & a member of the USAF Tactical Air Control Party & having done Pararescue Pipeline training, being an ultra-marathoner & holding the world record for most pull-ups done in 24 hours (he did 4030 in 17 hours—his 3rd attempt) he is well suited.

I‘m going to attempt to catch up with the 5 challenge prompts I missed this week in no particular order other than when they occur to me. For #IRan I immediately thought of David Goggins—the titular Navy SEAL in one of my favorite reads (bottom corner). He went from overweight & picked on to one of the top endurance runners/endurance athletes in the world. The tagged book is on my #TBR list as I find him fascinating.🏃🏿‍♂️
