A fearless and brutal look at friendships and the emotional autopsies we all do when they die. Like a real relationship you will laugh, rage, and mourn its loss when its over. Justina Ireland, New York Times bestselling author of Dread Nation Simultaneously hilarious and moving, weird and wonderful. Have you been looking for a zombie book that will make you laugh and cry? Look no further. Jeff Zentner, Morris Award-winning author of The Serpent King Six Feet Under meets Pushing Daisies in this quirky, heartfelt story about two teens who are granted extra time to resolve what was left unfinished after one of them suddenly dies. A good friend will bury your body, a best friend will dig you back up. Dino doesnt mind spending time with the dead. His parents own a funeral home, and death is literally the family business. Hes just not used to them talking back. Until Dinos ex-best friend July dies suddenlyand then comes back to life. Except not exactly. Somehow July is not quite alive, and not quite dead. As Dino and July attempt to figure out whats happening, they must also confront why and how their friendship ended so badly, and what they have left to understand about themselves, each other, and all those grand mysteries of life. Critically acclaimed author Shaun Hutchinson delivers another wholly unique novel blending the real and surreal while reminding all of us what it is to love someone through and around our faults.

Great concept. Would‘ve been a great read is July and Dino weren‘t two of the most infuriatingly annoying characters ever.

I loved this book it takes a much needed look at friendships and that even at their best they're not always actually the best. It also has such an awesome view on letting go and accepting who you are and that you can be more than one type of person.

Funny and weird, but in a good way! Dino‘s ex-best friend, July, dies of an aneurysm, but sits up and starts talking while he‘s making up her body for her funeral in his family‘s funeral home. Together they try to figure out how she‘s alive, how to keep everyone else from finding out, and what went wrong with their friendship. Recommended!

I always know some what of what I'm getting myself into when I read a book from Shaun David Hutchinson. This book was wierd, quirky, but had a message which most of his books are all about. Dino family works in a funeral home and when Dino's ex bestfriend dies suddenly and then comes back to life. They go on a small journey to figure out why is she back along with why their friendship ended so badly.

What would you do if your were preparing your ex best friend for her funeral and she wakes up and screams on the gurney. This is what happens to Dino. His ex friend July and been died for a week when she wakes up. They don't know why people are not dying. This book shows the journey that Dino and July make over a couple of days to make up before it is truly to late. Such a good book!

What do you do when your ex-best friend comes back from the dead? Like all of Shaun David Hutchinson's books this one has a strong speculative premise in an otherwise realistic contemporary setting. I found July fairly obnoxious for a good part of the book, but I think it's a testament to Hutchinson's writing that I came around by the end. Didn't love this one as much as We Are the Ants but still a really solid YA book.

Bubble bath reading (and can I just say, I was so thrilled to get my hands on this baby early. Love everything I've read by Shaun David Hutchinson so far)
