Onto the next one. I don't have high hope for this, it only rates a 50% but it sounded interesting. 🤞

63-2019 ⭐️⭐️
If you are picking this up because like me The Hannibal Lector Trilogy is an all time favourite, prepare to be disappointed. I found this quite boring, and although there was action throughout it is quite slow. I even changed to audiobook thinking it would help but I literally feel asleep... Twice.
I enjoyed several of Thomas Harris‘s previous novels, and I was eager to pick up his newest work. Two rival criminal gangs are trying to get at a treasure locked underneath an abandoned mansion. I am not a big fan of heist stories, but the central character of Cari, the house-sitter, redeemed this book for me. The criminals, even the most monstrous of them, were not very interesting. Cari has a fascinating backstory and a compelling personality.
Book#60 of 2019!!! The worst of the year so far. 😢😪 So disappointing, I absolutely loved his other books.
I see this book has gotten some mixed reviews. I thought it was great. Not a super fast pace, but always moving forward. I enjoyed the Hannibal series of books. Fans of that series should like this one.
I loved the descriptiveness of the writing. The image of the bird sanctuary island surrounded by trash really sticks with me. The juxtaposition of nature's beauty with man's destruction. I definitely recommend this book. I'm glad I purchased it.
The reviews haven‘t been great, but I‘m gonna give it a shot.
I loved it
Exciting, very different from his Hannibal novels.
In Jacksonville today and have a few minutes to read and just look at the water. Hubby is looking at boats in the marina 🙄
Day 4 of @bookriot‘s #RiotGrams is Stacks On Stacks. While they are constantly moving, this is the potential state of any surface in my house at any given time. 😬
Nope.
Pretty sure this is a record for me, but I'm bailing on this one at the 3 minute mark. Why do authors (particularly fiction ones) feel the need to narrate their own books?? 😒 I may pick up the print copy at some point, but I haven't heard much good about this one so probably not. Glad I didn't waste an audible credit on it.
How did I miss this??
Kicking off the holiday weekend with the new Hannibal-free Thomas Harris novel! 🐊
It was a good story with nice new characters.
Was it worth the wait... Maybe not.
But Thomas Harris comes back with a bang.
Just saw this as I am ordering books for the library. May 2019 release, and it looks like this is the title?? Not sure how many are aware that he had a new one coming out...
