A middle-ish So-So that gave off strong Gone Girl vibes but passed the time nicely.

Things that were 👎
Bit generic
Clunky dialogue
1 dimensional characters
A tad predictable

Things that were 👍
Hooky plot
Nice level of tension/suspense
Undemanding reading
Villain gets come-uppance

Starting this one today. Reviews seem a little lukewarm but I'm after an undemanding read at the moment.

Claire Daniels is unaware she is married to a lying cheating sociopath. Husband Alfie has plans for getting his hands on her money.

Told from the viewpoints of both parties, the book is rather pedestrian for the first part, then it does a 180 and really picks up. It‘s easy to guess what‘s happening but it‘s fairly entertaining. 3⭐️

Cathythoughts Oh no ! It‘s so hard to find a good thriller these days .... 5y
OutsmartYourShelf @Cathythoughts It is isn‘t it. So many seem so formulaic now. 5y

“The Last Lie” is a gripping thriller, but it‘s not a tough read. I sped through the pages and looked forward to picking this up each day. Predictable and unrealistic at times but still an enjoyable 3 stars.

Thanks to Harper Collins for sending me this copy.
