The Rescue | Steven Konkoly

For fans of Tom Clancy and Lee Child, a heart-pumping thriller of betrayal, revenge, and conspiracy by USA Today bestselling author Steven Konkoly. Former CIA operative turned mercenary for hire Ryan Decker's specialty is rescuing kidnap victims. Hired by an influential US senator to liberate her daughter from a human-trafficking ring, Decker never anticipated sabotage or that the assault could go so disastrously wrong. The hostage is dead. His team is wiped out, and so are their families, including Decker's own wife and son--eliminated one by one by the Russian mafia. And he's survived to take the fall. When he's inexplicably freed soon into a ten-year sentence in federal prison, Decker suspects another setup. And private investigator Harlow Mackenzie knows he's right. She has evidence that a power greater than the Russian mob was behind the raid that ruined Decker's life. The next move in a nationwide cat-and-mouse game of high-level sedition is up to them. Fueled by revenge and an obsession to clear his name, Decker has only one mission: to destroy a growing conspiracy before it's too late.

🎧 X-CIA Agent turned mercenary Ryan Decker has been framed. The last OP he & his team went on flopped. The Russians killed his entire team, their families & his wife/son! He went to jail for ten years.

When he‘s released after only a year he smells a rat. He‘s joined by a group of female survivors headed by Private Eye Harlow who has proof that his suspicions are correct.

The remainder of this book is go go go … action!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👇🏻

Twainy Decker will exonerate himself of the crimes he‘s falsely accused and bring the true criminals to justice … was it the Russians? 🧐 3y

Mehso-so

This was ok. Fast paced and I generally like a short read of this style to break up some heavier books. This one felt a bit slow and maybe I was having a bad week, but I had a hard time staying awake. Also, too many people with the right skills at the right time...I like when it feels a bit more like an average person could be caught up in all this too.

These are the pages of the book journal from Moleskin in which I am recording my #litsyatoz reads, as well as my #nonfiction2019 reads. Sometimes I record more information than others. The previous pages I posted for #Litsyatoz are the index pages to this journal. I hope this helps you all who asked or wondered about this cool book in which I‘m recording the books I read.

Crazeedi I love moleskines! My book journal is a different one, I'm going to have to get one of these!!!❤️❤️ 5y

I rarely give a book 5 stars but this non-stop thriller introduces male and female heroes one can really attach to, and who seemingly can deal with any crisis. The author‘s credentials speak for themselves & his ability to tell a realistic story. The MC was framed for a botched hostage recovery, which forces him into action to uncover the truth with help from a splendid group of women kidnap survivors. 1st in series I plan to keep reading.

I think I‘ve found a new favorite “thriller” author, Steven Konkoly. This was an Amazon Prime first pick and I‘m not sure I‘ve read a better one. It‘s crazy complex with nonstop action, which I love. Rather than spending time just telling the story, the characters are continually in action thereby telling the story-does that make sense? Like the end of this chapter: we‘re off to go skydiving to suss out a potentially bad guy. Cool!!

DivineDiana Wish I had read your review before I had made my choice! 😉 6y
Texreader @DivineDiana Well, keep this author in mind if you like thrillers. It was so fun to have a rapid page-turner again! 6y
