The writing could have been better, and there were a few moments that were not as feminist as the book claimed to be, but overall I enjoyed reading this one. It opened my eyes to a part of history of which I was unaware, and I loved the characters.

The romances could have been done better, but I‘m enough of a sap that I found myself rooting for them anyway.

21 #42 I love stories about women pilots. This was just a light read. Fluff really. But enjoyable and what I needed right now.

I love when historical fiction introduces me to a topic I‘m not too familiar with, and love it even more when it does so via an entertaining, interesting and fully-realised story. All the characters are three-dimensional, with strengths and flaws that make them compelling and keep the reader guessing. A feminist story of women working within and against a system that didn‘t believe in them in the most dangerous and trying of times.

Absolutely loved this book based on real women who helped ferry planes back and forth during WWII. They had to fly through enemy territory without instruments or radios to deliver these planes to the front lines. We as women may still have a fight a head of us for equality but it‘s women and stories like theirs that make me realize that we truly have come a long way. The afterword introduces you to the women who inspired the characters.
