I found this at my library and I had just finished watching the Japanese tales of the macabre by JUNJi Ito on Netflix. I am now obsessed with horror manga and will be over here for awhile 🤣

September was slow for me as that‘s when we moved, but I think this Junji Ito book would have stood out anyway. It‘s centered around a town that is cursed by spirals. The art is great, intense and gross.
For a while after, I noticed spirals randomly, including, multiple McDonald‘s when I drove to Indiana. They all had this wallpaper with spirals on it as you entered. I kept telling myself they were meant to be cinnamon rolls.
This manga is horror of an epic scale. Make sure you read this during the day, with other people around you. Uber creepy. The art is incredible, but if you are sensitive to body horror, this may not be for you. Junji Ito is truly the master.
My favourite of Ito- it combines his classic solo-chapter feel within a consistent storyline, meaning you still experience the full diversity of horror. Some brilliant and shocking moments; classic body horror. Ito is unrivalled in what he does and this is no exception.
Just finished this and man, was this a bad idea to read at 1 in the morning...
