I finished the chunkster I was reading and I decided to pick this one up. It may or may not be my last read of the year since I told the high school senior he could have a New Year‘s Eve party here tomorrow night. I expect to get a lot of reading time in since I have to stay awake to chaperone!
pickThis is my first time reading Finkbeiner and I think this's one of the best books I've ever read by a modern author. The characters are so genuine and the real-life struggles were so relatable. The setting of small-town, Vietnam War era America was just entrancing to me. It's an absolutely beautiful literary work. This isn't one to rush through; it's one to savor. These raindrops represent how my glasses look after finishing this book. Fortunately no one caught me crying. That's the blessing of working in the Control Room alone. I'm going to need to ponder what to write in my review but I'll definitely recommend it.
My goal today is to finish reading this book. I'm on page 354 and I'm done with all my paperwork at work so I have 4 hours to kill.

pickThis book will fill your heart and touch your soul! as a child born in the '60s my memory of this era playing my mind through rose colored glasses.
