Pickpick

Billed as a short story collection though I'd call some of these fragments and curios from some of his worlds. Endlessly inventive and teeming with curious alternate realities, Nix himself has said he uses shorter pieces to explore all the ideas he'd never have time to write novels for. Not a place to start of you've never read him but a great addition for fans.

Just a little bit of progress for my #bookreport this week but I've promised myself I'll check in every week.
I'll finish tagged book today and Forever is taking me, well, forever. No fault of the book just lack of opportunity to read.
Almost back to normal... Just the Christmas tree to come down so hoping for more reading time going forward 👍⌚🎄

@Cinfhen

TrishB I did the taking down of everything on Thursday, feels a relief though always a bit sad! 4y

3 - so many places, including the Old Kingdom
4 - funeral potatoes: hash browns, cheddar cheese, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream all baked together in a weird delicious casserole
5 - ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

A good sign today‘s going to be rough is a short story bringing me to tears in under two hours.

I do want to relisten to the entire Old Kingdom series now, though. 😂

suzisteffen Oh my goodness, that series. I think about it so often. 5y

About to start GOLDENHAND and realized there was a short story I hadn't read! Thank Athena that Hoopla had it on audio. 👏🏽❤️ I have to say, I have waited over a decade to find out what happens to Lirael, Sabriel, and, most importantly, Mogget! Preparation for this grand event is a must. 📚💀🐈⚔️🛎🗝

elkeOriginal The story Creature in the Case is the one I had to go back and refresh myself on before Goldenhand because the novel's start overlaps with the story's end. Have fun in the Old Kingdom! 8y
kdwinchester @elkeo Oh! Thanks for the info. I have read the others in the series a couple of times but not "The Creature in the Case." 8y
