Two greedy squirrels go on a wild pinecone chase in this hilarious follow-up to The Lion Inside and The Koala Who Could! "It's mine!" shouted Cyril. "No, mine!" hollered Bruce. "You don't stand a chance! Give up! It's no use!" "I'm HUNGRY!" cried Cyril. "This cone is NOT yours!" "Stay back!" shouted Bruce. "This cone's for MY stores!" Greedy squirrels Cyril and Bruce both have their sights on a very special prize: the last pinecone of the season. Uh-oh! The race is on! A laugh-out-loud tale about friendship and sharing by the bestselling duo behind The Lion Inside and The Koala Who Could, Rachel Bright and Jim Field!

This RF book is a fun and eventful book packed with lots of adventure! The theme of this book is about two squirrels, Cyril and Bruce, who go on a wild chase after the last pine cone to have food for the winter but ultimately realize they were being selfish. This book would be fun for S, and getting the students find important events with the arts!

MaddyJ http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/printouts/goodstorytellingR.pdf - a great guide for storytelling! UDL principle to vary the methods for response and navigation and and ESOL 2 to promote cooperation (small groups) can both be accomplished while storytelling this book! #UCFLAE3414SP20 5y
KatiaP Sounds like a cute book to read. I like the concept of teaching about being selfish you can use this in many ways 5y
DrSpalding This looks like a great read aloud or storytelling you could use when exposing students to the rules of the classroom and getting along with one another! Great resource for storytelling! 5y

Not particularly seasonal as it's set in Autumn but my daughter & I love this book! The rhyming story is funny, great to read out loud & has a important message about sharing, cooperation & friendship. But it is Jim Field's illustrations that set it apart. His talent is given a much larger canvas than the characters and sparse scenes in the Oi! series allow. The autumnal landscape on the first page is really evocative - great stuff!

JennyM I have the bookmark of this from book depository. It looks a fun book the kids and me would also love 🐿 6y
