The Fallen Man
The Fallen Man | Tony Hillerman
4 posts | 8 read | 1 to read
Human bones lie on a ledge under the peak of Ship Rock mountain, the remains of a murder victim undisturbed for more than a decade. Three hundred miles across the Navajo reservation, a harmless old canyon guide is felled by a sniper's bullet. Joe Leaphorn, recently retired from the Navajo Tribal Police, believes the shooter and the skeleton are somehow connected and recalls a chilling puzzle he was previously unable to solve. But Acting Lieutenant Jim Chee is too busy to take an interest in a dusty cold case ... until the reborn violence of it hits much too close to home.

My #WeeklyForecast somehow contains more books than last week!! One of the books I completed last week was immediately replaced by the next book in the series, and then three books came in that are September “assignments“ - Venetia for #LMPBC, Murder in the Mews for #AgathaChristieClubR2, and Dangerous Beauty from the publisher for review. Currently reading the tagged book - I really enjoy the Leaphorn & Chee books but my progress through that ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) series has been quite slow, as evidenced by the fact that I have literally had this book checked out since NOVEMBER of 2021! 😂 WHOOPS. Anyway, apparently the library wants their book back so I actually am reading it. After that, I'll be back to letting fate decide which book from the Windowsill of Optimism is next!!

Cinfhen Such nerve!! The library actually wants the book back ….almost 11 months later 😂😂 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - I know, right?! I (a) couldn't believe how demanding they are and (b) genuinely had no idea I had had this book for this long 😂 2y

Pickpick

I‘ve never read Hillerman before, but my mom loves him, so I thought I‘d give him a try. In this solid mystery, skeletal human remains are found at a tricky climbing spot, leading to the suspicion that this may be a local man missing for 11 years.

I love Tony Hillerman. I‘m excited to start reading his daughters books in this series. This book is by far one of my favorites in the series, so far.
