One Tuesday Morning

Im a firefighter, God, so I know Ive been in some tough places before. But this . . . this not knowing the people I love . . . this is the hardest thing I can imagine. The last thing Jake Bryan knew was the roar of the World Trade Center collapsing on top of him and his fellow firefighters. The man in the hospital bed remembers nothing. Not rushing with his teammates up the stairway of the south tower to help trapped victims. Not being blasted from the building. And not the woman sitting by his bedside who says she is his wife. Jamie Bryan will do anything to help her beloved husband regain his memory, and with it their storybook family life with their small daughter, Sierra. But that means helping Jake rediscover the one thing Jamie has never shared with him: his deep faith in God. Jakes fondest prayer for his wife is about to have an impact beyond anything he could possibly have conceived. One Tuesday Morning is a love story like none you have ever read: tender, poignant, commemorating the tragedy and heroism of September 11 and portraying the far-reaching power of Gods faithfulness and a good mans love.

1. Peppermint mocha, though mulled wine is a close second
2. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - I love the way it's sad and thoughtful.

This was a book club book picked by someone who was in middle school on 9/11 and so doesn‘t have the same emotions about the day that I do. It wasn‘t for me, but I can see why people like this author. #20in4 book 3/3!

#awesomeautumnbooks #9/11 #neverforget

Tuesday September 11, 2001 was one #toughtuesday. I had just moved to NY the month before and was newly married to my husband, a firefighter for the FDNY (sadly we've since divorced). In the aftermath of 9/11 his fire house received many generous donations and one of them was a box of this book, all autographed for the members of his house.

This series is fantastic. Heartbreaking and hard to read at times but so, so good.
