In a series with multiple points of view, there are always going to be some you don't like. Unfortunately, I've always found Danaerys to be incredibly boring. However, now more and more characters are travelling towards her, meaning that a big focus of this book was around that area and I just didnt care about any of it. I still enjoyed the stories happening in the Seven Kingdoms and the North.

nolongerinuse I felt the same when reading these books. On my rereads I skip Dany's chapters. 4y

Now the waiting begins who will finally sit on the iron throne and should I watch the TV series?

Lots of interesting happenings in this addition to the story.

Not sure if I am ahead or behind the buddy read I was thinking discussion at the weekend let me know if you need longer to finish.

BookwormAHN I'm going to need a little longer to finish. I think you should watch the show and not just because I seriously wonder if Martin will ever finish the books. I really liked the show. The last season was too short and sometimes shocking but was still wrapped up basically how Martin wanted it. 5y

Can someone please explain to me how Arya managed to assassinate the trader by stealing from someone else. My brain can‘t work it out.

rretzler Been way too long since I‘ve read it to remember😔 5y

Well tomorrow is 1st July are you all ready to head back to Westeros? Will Martin get his finger out and write the next instalment? Where is this book going to take us?

BookwormAHN I'm ready. I'd personally like to lock Martin and Rothfuss in a room and not let them out until they finish their books 😸 5y
Chili I‘m ready. @BookwormAHN I agree 100%. They should be locked in until they finish their series. 😂 5y

Amazing world building, detailed characters, and I don't have to wait quite as long for The Winds of Winter to be released as those who read this when it first came out! 🤘🏻

Gezemice Fingers crossed here for Winds of Winter...😍 8y

Over half way through!
George R R Martin really has a way with words. How can a book involving mythical creatures feel so realistic?
In one of our geekier moments, my boyfriend and I bought a replica of Longclaw for our wall.
I do love Jon Snow but it's hard to pick just one favourite character!
