My boys‘ book haul! The bag is for me. I just can‘t resist a good tote. I have so many. 🙈

After this book was an answer on Jeopardy the other night, I decided to give it a re-read as I couldn‘t remember the ins and outs. A quick read that teaches children the lesson of being happy with who you are and not trying to change yourself.
I don't remember reading this as a kid so I thought I'd give it a go. The lesson here is to love what you've got/how you look. My take away as an adult is to not eat weird concoctions suggested by your peers. The artwork is cute but I wanted a little bit more here than what we got. About 🌟🌟🌟.
Since Icefall was aimed at the higher middle grade, this balanced it out appealing to lower middle grade & below. #MiddleGradeMarch @sblbooks @megnews
This was never my favorite Judy Blume book, but I still read it about 50 times when I was a kid, so it was fun to revisit it with my kids. I did forget that he uses a blue marker when the freckle juice doesn‘t work. You know, because he couldn‘t find brown. 😂
The fiancé is napping, so I‘ve been able to tear through a decent amount of my #ThrowbackReadathon books this evening. I really enjoyed this reread, and I can definitely say that I still love this book wholeheartedly.
One thing that I didn‘t remember from reading this book as a child, was William‘s reason for wanting freckles in the first place... He wanted so many freckles so they would hide the dirt, and his mom wouldn‘t make him wash. ???
Once again, I love all the illustrations in this one. Maybe I‘m just said that most of my “adult” books don‘t have illustrations in them. 😫 I think all books should come with a picture or two. 😉 #ThrowbackReadathon
Next up for the #ThrowbackReadathon is my absolute favourite Judy Blume book ! Do we have any other Freckle Juice lovers out there?!
Also, this original cover is absolutely perfect for this event. 👏💕

My most favourite Judy Blume. 😍 I just had to pick this one up while I was at the library. It's an absolute MUST for the #throwbackreadathon
More pics will be coming when I'm off work. I might have taken out another 31 books today. 🙈Some were for the #ThrowbackReadathon and some were for the #LetsGetGraphicWeeklongMarathon . My library card is enabling my addiction. 😆
This RF made me remember how much I love Judy Blume. Andrew wants freckles so badly just like his friend Nicky. When another classmate offers to sell him a recipe for freckles, the laughs begin. Character mapping would be perfect for 1st or 2nd graders with this selection. storyboardthat.com/teacher-guide/freckle-juice-by-judy-blume #UCFWalterslit
I found a list on goodreads that says these were all published the year I was born. I don't know how accurate the list is, but I found these four that I've read on it.

My 2nd grader has been reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone this summer. At the book store yesterday, I was reminded how many wonderful characters and stories she hasn't met yet! I don't want her to miss out just because her reading level is higher than some of there great titles.
