⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘m really enjoying this series! This second installment was intense and had a cringy plot and I admit that I had to skim the violent parts (bloodbath city, man - seems to be part of the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike package!) Still, I am happily heading into the third book tonight. Short chapters, fast-paced storylines, witty protagonist. I‘m fully on board!

Giving the 2nd Elvis Cole book a go.It's a reread, but I read it so long ago it's almost like a first read anyway. I bought this off abebooks to replace my original copy which was "borrowed" (stolen!) years ago. This is why I don't lend books anymore, except for special people & with everything but a tracking device on the book! Elvis Cole is on the hunt for a Japanese crook with a stolen 13th century manuscript. Here's hoping the eyes don't fail me!

Today's #BookMail is from 2 different sites, the Robert Crais Omnibus,The Tommyknockers & The Rowan are from abebooks.com & the rest is from bookdepository I think it's gonna be a #NoBuyJuly for the rest of the month, every package is giving the hubby angry face😡so that's it until the end of the month, when I can use my $75 credit to get my crime new releases that are coming out then.Oh, except for the order made on the weekend which doesn't count.

A good airplane book: fast-paced, interesting characters, short chapters. It did get into more complex emotional and moral territory toward the end, but a decent private-eye mystery overall. I like plot-driven books on flights because of the frequent interruptions. What is a good plane book for you?

Lindy I like anything that I can feel immersed in - transported away from the discomfort of being crowded into a flying bus. A memorable example was one started at liftoff in CDG and ended as I landed at YEG: 8y
