April‘s Tequila Mockingbird book club pick is my first ever Forster.

Since it‘s getting into summer vacation season, it‘s been slow on the phones here in the call center, so I‘ve been reading books in “Libby” (shhh, don‘t tell my boss! 😉). Right now I‘m reading Howards End, and frankly, I‘m struggling. If I hadn‘t seen the adaption of it on “Starz,” I would have no idea what was going on! I‘ll try my best to trudge through the rest of this!
pickEM Forster is so good at what he does. This is the third of his books that I've read and now I want to read them all. He's so insightful and funny and unbelievably modern. Another great story about sisters, and also about home and class and rich dudes being total jackasses.
'Because a thing is going strong now, it need not go strong for ever,' she said. 'This craze for motion has only set in during the last hundred years. It may be followed by a civilization that won't be a movement, because it will rest on the earth. All the signs are against it now, but I can't help hoping, and very early in the morning in the garden I feel that our house is the future as well as the past.'
