Finally finished. This isn‘t a book I‘d normally pick up but it was mentioned in a magazine article I read so I thought I would give it a go. I‘m so very glad I did!

IuliaC I really liked this one ❤ 3y
Darklunarose @IuliaC it was highly interesting to read about other places. 3y

Still feeling down with this virus but the new meds are helping. Today‘s a bit of a wild and woolly day here...20c and wind and rain in mid summer Australia...I‘ll take it. Going to make soup, read and try and relax.

3 plus weeks ago I came down with the virus my eldest had been fighting since November. It‘s a nasty one. It tricks you seemingly getting better then worse. It‘s gone to a chest infection now so I‘m on antibiotics and a puffer. The cough...argh I have had it. So now hitting it with elderberry, Manuka in tea, kalimur and garlic. Worse is littlest has it and isn‘t sleeping at all. It‘s going to be a long few weeks here in this house.

Endowarrior21 I hope you all feel better soon 3y

A coworker and I just went down the rabbit hole of hygge and she suggested this book. This is the library blurb...would you believe I have a job interview coming and I have been trying to be in the petta reddest mindset!? This was a little weird and serendipitous to see. ☺️🧘🏼

I totally loved this ride around the world to uncover 33 secrets to a happier and more meaningful life. Most of them exist in my culture as well as in others; if not necessarily defined by a word or a concept, this wisdom is to be found in old local sayings and proverbs passed down from generation to generation, and of which it is always wonderful to be reminded

NeedsMoreBooks I read this last year and enjoyed it 😍 4y
IuliaC @NeedsMoreBooks I very much liked it too 😊 so I also watched The Next Black, one of the documentaries on the sustainability of fashion 4y

It read like a collection of blog entries and some concepts were repetitive, but overall I enjoyed it

This was a great book that explained a key concept that certain places saw as key to happiness. It was a good time to read this, since the world is so weird. And I love learning about other places.

I absolutely enjoyed this book and would love to own a copy of this in hard copy. This book describes 33 different concepts of happiness/philosophies/attitudes/life mottoes from different countries around the world. Learnt about adopting ideas of happiness: homeyness from the US, jolly from the UK, joie de vivre from Canada, wabi-sabi from Japan, xingfu from China, jugaad from India, and so many others. Truly a book to have on the shelf 😊
