The book “Families, Families, Families!” Is a great fantasy book by Susan and Max Lang. It talks about diverse family makeup‘s and living situations and the overall message is that as long as you love each other, you are a family! It‘s important to make every student feel like they are included and represented. #ucflae3414sp21

ReaganT Commenting the rest because it wouldn‘t let me put it all in the post. UDL principle 7.2- Optimize relevance, value, and authenticity would go along well with the website activity because it shows how the book is relevant to the students lives. It would also work well with ESOL strategy 3- encourage self talk (positive thinking) because the book can make a student feel more positively about their family makeup even if it is different from peers! 4y

OliviaBuck This is a great book to show kids that families are all different in their own ways! Not all families consist of a mom and dad and siblings, which I feel is mostly represented, so it is awesome to see a book that goes against that representation. 4y
JasmineLangley This would be a great book to show how different a family can look. And students who have families that may not look like the “normal” family structure will really be able to relate. It‘s important that we have books like this one so we are able to teach students about these important topics in a way they will understand. Thanks for sharing! 4y
PatriciaS I love 💕 this review and resources provided for teachers great book for teaching children about difference in family and understanding of others, great for read aloud lesson and activities and discussion sessions in safe and respectful classroom environment. 4y
DrSpalding There are social studies standards in kindergarten and first grade that relate to families. This would be an excellent read aloud. How nice of Tabatha to offer another resource for this quality text. 4y

Such a great book about what a family is and how everyone‘s is different. If there is a family combination not mentioned in this book, I am not sure what it is. And I love how the illustrator mixes illustrations with photos. It all works out to be a great book for home or for storytime.

rretzler Cute illustrations! 5y
