1. Yes, I‘m also an author of YA fiction.
2. Tagged a non-recent read, but I adore the writing by Courtney Summers.
3. Coming of age stories—strong and emotional pulls. Sometimes not thinking of the consequences. Main character usually is a teenager—usually.

Letting my latest round of edits simmer and have spent my time wisely. I‘ve managed to read 5 books in a month! Madness! 🥰📚

I absolutely loved this from start to finish. Give me anything zombies, and I‘m all in. But this was so much more than that, and that‘s the whole point. I loved Summers‘s short, snappy writing style, and I couldn‘t put it down. This is the reason I love to read (and write) about zombies. Especially when the story isn‘t truly about zombies at all. I adored every page.

When I am supremely stressed out by work - as I am this week - I give the classics a rest and look for the darkest "survive the apocalypse" book I can find. This is not a test is ostensibly a zombie novel, but mostly it's a novel about broken teens dealing with an existential crisis. I loved it.

Courtney Summers is brilliant at tapping into human emotions and the complexities of relationships and the human condition. Another beautiful novel (despite being an apocalyptic, which is only sometimes good tbh), and I can't wait to read the sequel. Rhys was always a favorite. Sloane...not so much.
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5

"It must be awful to find out your life is worth nothing to someone else." #YA

A perfect day for reading 💖 #readingintherain #cozyrain

"waiting around to be saved is like waiting to die and I have done more of both than anyone else in this room. there's a lot of nothing before there's something and running was something." Wonderfully cheesy and sad. #YA

Okay so...I keep putting off Warcross cause I can keep renewing, but these are such fast-paced good books!
“It is not my expectation to change the world. I want to change my life.”
"Time has a way of shifting funnily in situations like these. There is not enough of it or there is too much of it and it‘s always one when you need the other."
"Her gaze flickers around the room as she tries to figure out a way she can be free from me, always. Even though she knows I‘ll die without her. But maybe that‘s how it‘s supposed to be. I drive the crowbar into her face."

This would have been a real missed opportunity if I didn‘t use my The Walking Dead book mark with this Zombie book! 🤣

Really liked this author's writing. Feel like I've discovered a new fav. This was a good story. Quick read. Interesting. Heavy subject matter, but not heavy to read.

Holy moly!!!! Thank you so much @katekrug !!!! 2 of the books I‘ve heard about but hadn‘t ever read and the other 2 I‘ve never seen before! I‘m so excited! I love the little walking dead bookmarks along with the necklace! Everything smells good because of the packets and the candle. The bookmark rocks my world! It says ‘I spend all my time taking pictures of books‘. Thank you so much, Kate for the thoughtful gifts!!!! #halloweengoespostal

This is a zombie book but it's not about zombies. It's about so much more. Great book!

A little *too* much angst in this apocalyptic tale; started with a bang and ended with a whimper. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
