This was my top pick for May.

This is 2nd in an historical mystery series that I was happy to discover in 2023.

Complex characters, great historical detail and absorbing plots…all reasons why I enjoy these books so much.

robinb @kspenmoll 🎉🎉 The series begins with this book. And apparently there are only 5 books as the last was published in 2015. I‘ve read 4 so far. 😊 (edited) 12mo

Pickpick

2nd in series, I enjoyed this one (set in 1781 London) even more than the first. The backstory is a bit long-winded but the series revolves around two unlikely amateur detectives, Harriet Westerman and Gabriel Crowther. This one is unique in that it is told by two voices investigating murders that end up connected. Involving treason, there are twists and turns and surprisingly some heartbreakingly sad moments as well. Well plotted, well written,🔻

robinb well researched and interesting flawed characters…it‘s everything I look for in a good historical mystery series. Recommended. 5/5⭐️

This was more historical fiction than historical murder mystery. I really struggled to get into it. It was well written, it just isn't something I'm interested in

Pickpick

I really enjoy this series particularly as this plot dives into the world of espionage. The development of all of the characters is a delight and I cannot wait to learn more about each of them as the series continues.
