This is my #BFC2022 April update and May goals. A lot of life stuff happened for me in April. Including the passing of my kitty, Biel and doing a memorial service for my Dad who passed in January. So, I didn‘t do as well on my April goals. I was able to keep my 3 no sweets days most of the month and I walked a lot more. Keeping the same goals for May. See comments.

The Silence of the Girls was very good! It was definitely not my usual read and a tad gross for my taste but it was so well done. I did not finish The Gilded Wolves so I do t feel like I should review it. I just never got into it. 🤷🏻‍♀️These are my #LMPBC reads for this last round and will both be in the mail today. #GroupV #GroupL

I am so late finishing my second first #LMPBC book for this round. I am getting both this one and Rivers of London in the mail today. #GroupL #GroupV This one was a soft pick for me. Finally getting around to my #BFC2022 March updates and April goals! @wanderinglynn

I did okay in March considering I was on vacation for a while and sick for the last week. I kept up reasonably well with workouts and no sweets days but I was by no means perfect. I would like to get into a routine for my workouts and would like to do better on my writing goals. I‘m planning to keep the same goals for April. See comments.

BookishBelle 3 no sweets days a week; workout, meditate, and write most days. 3 books for the month (which I met for March 😀). (edited) 2mo
wanderinglynn Perfection is an unrealistic & unattainable standard. The important thing is you kept at it. Way to go! 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Great goals for April! 2mo

This had a slow start. I almost dnf‘d it but I‘m glad I stuck it out! It was a cute cozy mystery! I came home sick with a stomach bug today and left my other current read at the office. 😞 It all worked out anyway though bc I was too cold to hold up a book and finished this one on #audio instead.

#WondrousWednesday Thanks for the tag! @Eggs

1. Shelfie where I keep my TBR and recent reads. It‘s a little junky right now. 🤷🏻‍♀️
2. I read for fun so I don‘t know that I would say anything I read is important.
3. I haven‘t bailed on anything this year but I am so close on The Windup Girl. It‘s been pretty gross so far.

Eggs Great post 👍🏼 - thanks for joining in 📚👏🏻📚 2mo
RaeLovesToRead I remember being upset by the sexual violence in The Wind Up Girl. It's been a while since I read it, but I think the second half is less upsetting. 2mo
BookishBelle Thank you so much for letting me know that @RaeLovesToRead ! I‘m not sure I can handle that right now… 2mo
RaeLovesToRead @BookishBelle I think if you can handle the first half, you can probably handle the rest, but I've got quite a high tolerance and there were scenes that got to me. I felt the same with Altered Carbon - both good books, but definitely should come with a content warning. 2mo

I am keeping my March goals the same as my February goals. I slacked off a bit the last two weeks of February due to a road trip we took to Missouri in connection with the recent passing of my father. So, I am giving myself some grace for that.

Hey #LMPBC #GroupV! Here are some picks from my TBR shelf. Don‘t mind the kitty butt in the shot. She wouldn‘t move. Let me know what you like, don‘t like, have already read.

See All 13 Comments
Kdgordon88 My first pick would be Mastering the Art of French Eating but they all sound interesting. I‘ve read and loved The Martian and would happily reread it. 3mo
HeathHof Ooh lots of good options here too! I've read The Martian as well. My first choice would be The Windup Girl but I'm open to any of them. 3mo
DanaManiac Hey! Lots of interesting picks here! I think The Windup Girl would be my first pick, but I‘d be happy to read any of them. 😊 3mo
BookishBelle Okay. I‘ll go with The Windup Girl unless there‘s an objection. @Kdgordon88 @Mynameisacolour @DanaManiac 3mo
BookishBelle @Kdgordon88 @Mynameisacolour @DanaManiac I am really struggling to get through The Windup Girl. It‘s got animal abuse and a gruesome slaughter of an animal and I‘ve just learned that it has some sexual violence in it as well. I know I can handle these things if I have to but I read for fun and I am not enjoying this book at all. Would y‘all be terribly put out if I switched my book to Mastering the Art of French Eating? 2mo
HeathHof Totally fine here! 2mo
