It seems like the authors of Zeit Crime magazine have read my mind lately - or listened in on my commute. This is an interesting overview over her novels. Her favourite way of murdering someone is by poison for example, 34 protagnostis died due to it. Or that „And then there was none“ is the most sold murder mystery worldwide with a number of sold copies of over 100 million. 😮😮😮

rretzler Very cool! Now I want to have a copy of that magazine! 🤣 8mo

Agatha Christie is the most widely published author of all time, outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare. Her books have sold more than a billion copies in English and another billion in a hundred foreign languages. She died in 1976, after a prolific career spanning six decades.

Here‘s a list of all her works:

#LMPBC Round 10- #GroupM (Agatha Christie)
@MaleficentBookDragon @LiteraryinLititz @suvata @Bookwormjillk

Wow! I think that was the fastest time that we filled a group. Group M decided to go with Agatha Christie books. Now we all just have to pick but we want to read. Two of us have done that. No hurry, but when you figure out what book you want, let me know and I will add it to the graphic for our group.

katy4peas 🙋‍♀️ me too! Anyone else want to do an Agatha group? 4y
suvata If you can find three other people that want to join you we can start a second Agatha group. 4y
katy4peas @suvata oh okay. I just signed up for one as it looked like others were signing up and starting a group... I‘ll see if I can find some others to join though. I created group N. So now we have Group M or N which is one of her book titles. Haha! 4y

suvata @katy4peas That‘s funny 4y
MaleficentBookDragon Wow that was fast. I‘m excited for this group. If anyone has read Sparkling Cyanide I can change my choice. @LiteraryinLititz @Bookwormjillk 4y
Bookwormjillk I have this on my TBR for this year. Has anyone read it @LiteraryinLititz @MaleficentBookDragon 4y
suvata @Bookwormjillk I haven‘t read it 4y
LiteraryinPA @Bookwormjillk I‘m pretty sure I‘ve read them all? But I will GLADLY reread any one, which is why I signed up! So I am totally up for Sparkling Cyanide and A Caribbean Mystery. It‘s been ages! @MaleficentBookDragon @suvata (edited) 4y
suvata @LiteraryinLititz Let me know when you pick a book. I‘ve not read a lot of Christie myself so this will be interesting. 4y
LiteraryinPA @suvata Absolutely good with At Bertram‘s Hotel. (edited) 4y
LiteraryinPA @MaleficentBookDragon I‘ve actually read Evil Under the Sun a bunch and recently, so I would prefer not to do that one (even though it‘s great!). 4y
MaleficentBookDragon @LiteraryinLititz are you okay with Sparkling Cyanide? If not, which ones haven't you read? I do own most of them. 4y
LiteraryinPA @MaleficentBookDragon Yes, it‘s been a loooong time since I read Sparkling Cyanide. Thanks! 4y

Hey All!
I need your bookish expertise! I have a credit for a free book on ThriftBooks and want to know what some of your favorite Locked Room Mysteries are! Especially anything a la Agatha Christie 👍🏻 BIG THANKS!

Librarybelle Not exactly locked room, but definitely an isolated island: 5y
DGRachel Escape Room by Megan Goldin was really good. 5y
brittanyreads @DGRachel added to my stack! Thanks! 5y

I need your help!

My book club had a virtual meeting this week and we decided to each choose an Agatha Christie novel to read. We will then give a short book report and discuss themes, similarities, differences, etc at our next meeting.

Having never read any of her novels, where should I start? Do you have a favorite?

Littens give the best recommendations and I‘m a bit overwhelmed by the choices so I need your help! 😫#agathachristie

Tanisha_A I just finished reading this and gosh it was a hell of a mystery. 5y
Tanisha_A Others I have read and loved - The ABC Murders, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Murder on the Orient Express. 5y
Tanisha_A Your bookclub sounds fun! Enjoy! 😃 5y

MeganAnn @Tanisha_A thank you for these ideas!! And Then There Was None was one mentioned by one of the other women in my book club as a favorite of hers. I‘m going to check out the other titles you mentioned. We usually just choose one book to all read and discuss so this will be a bit different for us. Should be interesting! 5y
rabbitprincess I endorse all of the above, especially ABC Murders 😊 5y
Librarybelle And Then There Were None is my favorite of hers. But, another good standalone is 5y
MeganAnn @Librarybelle that one looks interesting. Thank you!! 5y
Lindy It‘s been years since I‘ve read any—I remember burning through a lot of Poirot in the 1980s. It just happens that I decided to pick her first book up for a reread next week, simply because it was in a list of books published in 1920: 5y
MaleficentBookDragon My top three (of the ones I've read so far) are And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, and 5y
MaleficentBookDragon And (can you tell I'm a Christie fan?)...the #manpanion loved the movie for 5y
charl08 This one is a classic: 5y
MeganAnn @Lindy ooh I also kind of like the idea of reading her first novel published 100 years ago! Thanks for the suggestion 💙 5y
MeganAnn @MaleficentBookDragon ahh thank you! Looks like lots of great choices... how am I ever going to pick one? 🤷‍♀️😆💙 5y
MeganAnn @charl08 thanks!! That one looks like a popular one. 💙 5y
