Very surprised at the ending so disappointing. The story line and information was really interesting and could have went so many ways. It‘s like oh crap I am at my page limit so need to end.

This was the first book that came to mind when I saw #bookandfruit. The funny thing about this book is I remember readng it when I was 17/18 but can't remember this book for the life of me(if that makes sense). I saw it pop up several times at book stores the last 3-4 years so I figure it was fate to read it again and bought it last year. It is on my #tbr list for this year. #splashintosummerreads

I'm rather ambivalent about this book. The plot dragged on with promising hints but never amounted to anything interesting. There was a thin veil of mysticism over the writing with an undercurrent of menace. Very promising at the beginning but the middle and end were lackluster. There was so much potential in the details. Annoying they weren't explored. The writing itself was beautiful. The plot deflating.
