You‘d be forgiven for picking The Happiest Refugee thinking you‘re going to get a light-hearted life story from one of Australia‘s most cheerful comedians. Indeed, there are plenty of chuckles to be had, but Anh Do‘s life hasn‘t all been smooth sailing. It's tough to pick a favourite - they're all so different! and took me to so many different places - but the one that made me smile the most was definitely The Happiest Refugee by Anh Do. Superb recount of Anh Do's life. Perfectly written and read by Anh. Very funny with some teary moments.
What an amazing story and an insight to the life of a Refugee. This is a must read, with this we can truly appreciate our Australian lifestyle and the lengths gone to to live in a country like Australia.

My 7 & 8yr old love his Weir Do books & they love this memoir just as much. 👍 I'm in awe of his many, many talents.

Super easy to read memoir that has plenty of Anh's humour. A great book all teens should read if they have no personal experience or understanding of refugees. Loved it.

3. I don‘t usually go for biographies... but Anh Do is a bit of legend really and has possibly the worlds sunniest personality (I haven‘t read this one but my Mum recommends it at every opportunity)

Light, easy fun read

Enjoyed reading the story of a refugee, wish more Aussies would. Side note: I always expect comedians biographies to be funny and always seem to be disappointed in that regard.

Wow. What a weird day. There has been a lot of sadness and frustration on litsy but also so much positive energy. This community is awesome. It is a great comfort to know that there are so many caring and wonderful people in the world ( who also happen to be book nerds🤓) #imwithyou
