Okay, #HappyFiction buddies! Thoughts? I haven‘t read any of these…. just hoping we don‘t end up with another Auntie Mame! 😬

@Chrissyreadit @mabell @TheAromaofBooks I am so happy to be reading with you all for Round 15 of #LMPBC #GroupL! I love our choices!

mabell So do I! ☺️ @Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks @julieclair Just checking since this is my first time, we write an intro of ourselves in the front? And make notes along the way in the book? As in, we write IN the books? 😳😆 2y

TheAromaofBooks @mabell - haha traditionally yes, you write in the books. However, if you really don't want your book to be written in, I've heard of people using a separate notebook to take notes in and sending that around!! I usually will put a little paragraph in the front with some pre-book thoughts, then just make notes, underline, exclamation points, etc. throughout the text, then at the end some final summary thoughts, and then everyone else can do ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) something similar as they go. Depending on what I'm reading, sometimes I like to ask a conversation question at the end of a chapter or section (like, “Seriously, WHY!?“ 😂) or whatever. It's pretty flexible!! The main thing is to use a different colored pen than anyone else who has written in the book ahead of you so it's easy to see who made which notations. 2y
mabell @Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks Ha, ok! I think I‘ve got it! Thank you for mentioning the pen color - I had missed that! Now I just have to get to reading 😆 2y
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - There really isn't a “wrong“ way to do it (other than just literally writing nothing, I guess haha) I just usually write all the things I would normally think while reading 😂 2y
julieclair I wish I'd seen this conversation before the last round, which was my first time. For the 1st book, which of course was my book, I had no idea what to write, so just wrote whatever came to mind & underlined interesting sentences. I couldn't wait for the 2nd book to arrive, so I could see how it was supposed to be done. Well, book 2 arrived and it was a brand new copy with no writing in it! ⬇️ 2y
julieclair It wasn't until book 3 arrived that I finally got to see how someone else did it. 🥴 @TheAromaofBooks @mabell @Chrissyreadit 2y
Chrissyreadit @julieclair @mabell what feels best/right for you? That‘s also important- I‘ve had gorgeous journals also sent to add more thoughts and questions. Some books I have a lot to say, some books not as much to say. I think the most important part is that everyone enjoys the experience- I love seeing what resonates to everyone as we read together too. I always wish there was a zoom at the end of each round to compare and discuss thoughts @TheAromaofBooks 2y
julieclair @Chrissyreadit A zoom is a great idea! And I agree that seeing what resonates with everyone is so interesting. I feel the same way about Buddy Reads. Reading together makes the experience so much richer. Despite my concerns about “doing it right”, I loved my first LMPBC last round. So much so that I signed up for 2 groups this time! 😀 @mabell @TheAromaofBooks 2y
mabell @Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks I feel much more prepared! Especially since the whole point is to have fun and share books. ☺️ But I agree @julieclair I look forward to receiving book 2 and seeing what others do! 😄 2y
