The book that the movie “Goodfellas” was based upon. It‘s good, but this is one of the few times you‘ll hear me say, “the movie was better than the book.” I mean, it has to be: Liotta, DeNiro and Pesci ... need I say more?

This is the book the movie was based on, so if you like one, you‘d probably like the other.

1. Harley Merlin and the Secret Coven, only because my mother-in-law gave it to me and she keeps asking me if I read it
2. The tagged book, very interesting
3. Killers of the Flower Moon and The Stand

I can totally understand how someone read this and thought “I have to make this story into a movie.” Henry Hill is larger than life, and his journey from a little boy helping out at a cab stand to becoming one of the top players in the Lucchese crime family is incredible to read about. He tells the story with such wit and cleverness that entire paragraphs of his words were used verbatim in the movie Goodfellas.
Well almost at the halfway point for #24in48 I knew I wouldn‘t get 24 but I like getting to 12 hours. I‘ll probably get some more time tonight.
Still, finished this true crime about Henry Hill that was great. I already loved Goodfellas and this provided more inside info. It was educational but also entertaining.
I read this years and years ago. I'm pretty sure Goodfellas was based on this book. Plus, there's a DePasquale in this book-no relation-My dad was a straight laced accountant. Thank God! Lol. #SEEWHATIHAVEWON
My fav. true crime. It became Goodfellas and strangely My Blue Heaven with Steve Martin (really, look it up!). Why I like it is it all took place in my neighborhood while I was living there. I remember hearing about some things, like Xzavier HS getting shot out. I lived a few blocks from there. #lookwhatihavewon
