I have just unexpectedly lost my dad, the person I was closest to, and I am totally devastated. I feel I need to start reading soon again to slowly find my way out of this horrible state I‘m in. I don‘t really know what kind of books would be good to read. Figured my go to, murder mysteries, is not the right thing. Any thoughts?
What helped me through when my mom died was reading humorous works (A WALK IN THE WOODS by Bill Bryson comes to mind. Maybe essays by Dave Barry or Laurie Notaro; I always love their articles). If you want to read mystery, maybe read some “cozy“ ones would help. 🤗 1y
