With sadness our community bookstore closed its doors today for the foreseeable future whilst the virus runs its course. So I ventured to the corner of the street to fill up the little free library.
Today‘s the day to spend curled up in the basement of the bookstore reading and reflecting on the world.
This is why I love my Indie - every time I go in there‘s something new & interesting that I‘ve never seen. I was born in Essex “the misunderstood county”! It‘s a place that people have lots of stereotypes for!
Finally managed to visit Pages of Hackney after so many people told me I had to go! It‘s in a slightly difficult bit of London for me to get to but I‘m glad I made the effort. This is the most wonderful little jewel of an independent bookshop with big sections for travel, life writing, essays, nature writing. If only I had more money...
