I have been overly zealous in my recent library hauls, but hopefully I can get through a few of these this weekend. The tagged book is a collection of highly autobiographical short stories which deal with abuse, poverty, and a number of other difficult topics, but the first few have been well written. I may drag that one out since the stories are so heavy and prioritize some of the others. We shall see.

My MIL throws away books. 😳 I once found a black trash bag sitting by her door full of books that she hadn't even read, but didn't want anymore. Needless to say I rescued them, so it's really cool to see that others are doing the same!

pickSome of the most visceral, powerful writing I have read. Allison is an incredible storyteller and she blurs the line between memoir and fiction in these short stories. The women in these tales are strong with rough edges and sharp tongues. Highly recommend this collection.
If the introduction is any indication, this collection of short stories may be a new favorite. This is worth checking out for the intro alone.
I‘m in a rut. Any recommendation for trashy, you-hate-to-love-it memoirs?
