@TricksyTails so sorry I‘m late with this, but thank you for the tag! 😊

1. Neither. Nicely scented bar soap....I‘m more of a shower person. 😊
2. Both! Love lip balm, but lip gloss is nice if a neutral color.
3. No thanks.
4. I️ mostly paint my toes and tend to stick with traditional pinks and reds.
5. Favorite necklace or earrings
6. Please join us, if you haven‘t already! 😊

Another book mixing intrigue with classical ruins in the late nineteenth century. This time the intrigue involves someone from Colin and Emily's past.

ScientistSam Reminds me a bit of E Philip Oppenheim's The Great Impersonation. Is it really Philip or isn't it? 7y

Didn't love this as much as the previous books. A ghost from the past comes back and one that I didn't think needed resurrecting; but I guess provided some closure? I did love having it be set fully in Greece and Santorini and all of the archaeological/historical elements. And I seriously hope that there's someone nice for Jeremy in the series' future. He's a decent bloke after all. Not a ton of foreshadowing, so what's next? Only time will tell.

At about page 100 and the protagonist has addressed the reader twice directly. This keeps throwing me off because I can't recall this device ever having been used before in the previous 10 books in the series. Now all of a sudden Lady Emily is aware she is part of a story?

BookishMarginalia Maybe she's had a rude awakening? 7y

Over the years, I have grown to love the Lady Emily series. This one has a bit of a different feel, and I enjoyed it.

I was disappointed in this book. The previous books in the Lady Emily series were so good! The plot seemed forced and I had a difficult time believing that Emily and Colin would have let things get so out of hand. I hope the next book in the series turns out better...

Tasha Alexander is at her best when she plays with Victorian Sensation Fiction tropes, and this is no exception. As an added bonus, lots of allusions to the first book in the series, as well as some of Emily's early adventures. One of my favorite series, and this another excellent addition!
