Notorious Pleasures
Notorious Pleasures | Elizabeth Hoyt

Their lives were perfect . . . Lady Hero Batten, the beautiful sister of the Duke of Wakefield, has everything a woman could want, including the perfect fianc. True, the Marquis of Mandeville is a trifle dull and has no sense of humor, but that doesn't bother Hero. Until she meets his notorious brother . . . Until they met each other. Griffin Remmington, Lord Reading, is far from perfect - and he likes it that way. How he spends his days is a mystery, but all of London knows he engages in the worst sorts of drunken revelry at night. Hero takes an instant dislike to him, and Griffin thinks that Hero, with her charities and faultless manners, is much too impeccable for society, let alone his brother. Yet their near-constant battle of wits soon sparks desire - desire that causes their carefully constructed worlds to come tumbling down. As Hero's wedding nears, and Griffin's enemies lay plans to end their dreams forever, can two imperfect people find perfect true love?

I liked this for the most part, but it was not as good as book 1 in the series. I have heard this is one of the weakest and I would agree. I am very much looking forward to book 3! 3⭐️ This did finish a book for my #bookspinbingo & book 1 done for #14books14weeks2021

I really loved the first book in the series and I had high hopes for this one. It started out great, but everyone became pretty much insufferable. Oh, and the heroine's brother was going to make his sister adhere to her betrothal to a man who struck her across the face. ⭐️⭐️ (2 stars)

The other day it was a romance novel and a carrot cake cupcake tea latte. Today it's an actual carrot cake cupcake. We've got a pattern.

My happy place. DavidsTEA and a romance novel.

balletbookworm Ahhh! ❤️❤️ Maiden Lane books!!! 8y
mdemanatee @balletbookworm I read the last one that came out and am now going back to the beginning like "how did I miss the boat on this one??" I am ❤️❤️ then too! 8y
balletbookworm So you've never read the whole series?? So much goodness in store!! My favorites are book 5 (Lord of Darkness) and book 8 (Dearest Rogue) and, of course!, the newest one Duke of Sin 😜 8y
mdemanatee @balletbookworm I haven't which is so weird because the series started when I was still at the library & better at keeping up with romance. And it's 100% up my romance alley. I was really excited for 5 & 8 based on blurbs, so that makes me happy! 8y

Just finished Notorious Pleasures by Elizabeth Hoyt. I enjoyed it but it took me a while to read it. I've had trouble getting sucked into stories lately so it is probably me more than the story itself.
