I put off reading this book because of all the mixed reviews but it‘s a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. The audiobook was entertaining and creepy puppets are the perfect start to spooky reading season.

There are worse ways to spend an afternoon.

I was hooked immediately, then listening became work because if I missed a word I missed a pivotal moment in the story. Now with 18 hours left to go I think I have found my rhythm and finally settled into the world and finally care about the characters.

The narrator is excellent.

I‘m enjoying this story but it has a definite Lord of the Rings vibe. It‘s hard not to view Karigan as Female Frodo.

This book was crazy pants! In all honesty, I started to stop several times but I am so glad I got through the parts making me uncomfortable and just enjoyed the trip to Crazyville! I listened to the book and the audio version was very good.

The audiobook reminds me of an MTV Rockumentary.

Current waiting in the car read. I love everything M.M. Kaye has written.

Today‘s book choice seems appropriate!

I just finished this. I‘m torn. The writing about marsh and nature is exceptional. There is a sense of place that sucked me in. The rest of the writing, I felt I was supposed to suspend reality, like one does when reading not just fiction but fantasy. I struggled with that since I consider this chick lit. All that being said I loved the story. I didn‘t want to stop listening to the audiobook. I recommend this for the beautiful writing alone.

Started out the year with minimal reading. Nothing would hold my interest, everything seemed blah. Sometimes it‘s nice to revisit old favorites. These stories never get old.

Really enjoyed this second book in Hobb‘s Farseer series. It was a bit slow in parts and I get frustrated at how utterly clueless Fitz can be but he is still a kid so I am forgiving Hobb for that. Once again the story ends with some plot lines resolved and more questions left unanswered leaving the reader satisfied yet wanting to know more.

Enjoyed the audiobook. If you are expecting a lot of Wicked behind the scenes gossip you will be disappointed “A Little Bit Wicked” is pretty much all there is. It is a nice peek into the life of someone starting a career on Broadway. A little heavy on the “Jesus guides my life” topic but overall a fun read.

3.5 - 4 Stars. Excellent summer/beach read. I had it figured out early on BUT the plot twists and red herrings kept me guessing.

Five stars. I love the world, the magic and Fitz. Just a well told tale.

Lately it‘s been hard to find a book that holds my attention until Assassin‘s Apprentice. The story is everything a reader (or listener in my case) wants in a good tale. I think the rest of my summer listening is now sorted since there are 9-12 books set in this world.

Saturday morning vibes. My reading list these days is very 70s/80s tv miniseries. Shogun, The Winds of War and Clan of the Cave Bear are at the top of my to read and re-read lists.

At 45 Rhoda Henry remained a singularly attractive woman but she was rather, a crab. This colored her judgement and it was a fault he found hard to forgive her.

Great read! Well plotted mystery. I figured out one plot line early on but the second had a nice twist. Looking forward to more from this author.

Cookbooks on shelves instead of stacked up on a broken, red Rubbermaid bucket. I feel almost civilized.

Next up in the audiobook to be read stack!

In all honesty this book was a so-so for me BUT I decided to make it a pick because I will be thinking about it for a while. Ridiculous characters that in the end are so very human it is heartbreaking yet hopeful.

I had forgotten how to just lay around and read. 99% of the time I listen to audiobooks while doing something else and actual reading happens in the car while waiting or possibly at the beach. To just read, in a quiet house, the only activity, turning the page. Pure luxury! I think I need to do this more often but then I'd never get anything done!

Thanks to @Scurvygirl I'm listening to N0S4A2 by Joe Hill. Why does summer just scream "read scary stories"? Could it be a carry over from childhood of sitting outside late at night trying scare each other?

Feels weird buying dead tree books again but since my Kindle Paperwhite was stolen these are best for beach reading.

Just finished this. Wow! Theodore Roosevelt was a renaissance man, an adventurer, they don't make them like him any more! Very slow start, slow storytelling, but it's true and worth the read!

Just started this. I flipped a coin and it won over Lost City of Z. I think it will be next. I've been in the mood for adventure reading. Has anyone read Lost City of Z?

This series is so good! I think this book is even better than Throne of Glass. I have 3 hours left of the audiobook. I want to be done, yet don't want it to end!

Started this today. Already sucked into the story.

11 hours and 31 minutes of my life I will never get back. I think this is a book that should be read not listened to. I did stick with it and want to know what happened so that is a positive but there were so many narrators and points of view that for an audiobook it was just too much to keep track of.
