View our feature on J.D. Robbs Eve Dallas series. Eve Dallas is one tough cop. It should take more than a seemingly ordinary middle-aged lady to make her fall apart. But when that lady is Trudy Lombard, all bets are off. Just seeing Trudy at the station plunges Eve back to the days when she was a vulnerable, traumatized young girland trapped in foster care with the twisted woman who now sits smiling in front of her. Trudy claims she came all the way to New York just to see how Eve is doing. But Eves fiercely protective husband, Roarke, suspects otherwiseand a blackmail attempt by Trudy proves his suspicion correct. Eve and Roarke just want the woman out of their lives. But someone else wants her dead. And when her murder comes to pass, Eve and Roarke will follow a circuitous and dangerous path to find out who turned the victimizer into a victim.

On my second read through, I've revised the rating up to 4.5🌟because there are some great moments between Dallas & Peabody. Other highlights include Galahad the cat in reindeer antlers & Feeney aghast at the thought of having to wear a suit at Christmas dinner. Not quite top marks due to the fact that the book took just a little bit too long to get to the conclusion.

I'm still enjoying the Eve Dallas series, which is a pretty good feat at 20-something books in. They're fast and fun, and this one was festive with Christmasy stuff. I keep thinking I'd like it if she had an offshoot series with Peabody and McNabb.

Another great book in one of my favorite series! I enjoyed that we learned more about Eve and her past in this one. It was the perfect book to end my #boutofbooks read-a-thon with. I just can't get enough of these books- so good!

What great timing! Starting an In death book set around Christmas. What can I say I'm addicted to these characters. Even if I knew who the killer was right away I don't care it's the interactions between the characters that makes this series.

#seasonsreadings2016 My TBR pile is small for December. I want to finish Storm of Swords and then cuddle up with Roarke and Eve for the holiday.
