We read a lot of British male poets in university. I do love them, but I have been making a conscious effort to look into lady poetry lately. #riotgrams day 15 poetry.

batsy These are lovely editions! 7y
Augustdana @batsy thanks! Picked them up from a second hand store and I love them. 7y
Lcsmcat I have that edition of the St. Vincent-Millay! 7y
Augustdana @Lcsmcat I got it used, and sometimes I think about the other shelves these editions have graced. It‘s a beauty inside and out. 7y

I really enjoyed this book. It has an excellent selection of Emily Dickinson's poetry and letters, and it helps you understand who she was as a person, and what drove her to write poetry.

I don't have a lot of poetry but here are a few older editions of Dickinson and Poe that I got at a used bookstore. Starting with the essentials obvi.
For #augustofpages #photochallenge day 19!

Yamich49 @BookishFeminist OFC you love Poe you wonderful twisted weirdo 😆 8y
BookishFeminist @Yamich49 Girl his angst got me through middle school & high school. How could I not? I have a book of Poe tourism on my shelves too since I'm near where he's from & may or may not have gone to a reenacted Poe reading on my birthday last year 👀 8y
Yamich49 @BookishFeminist OMG that sounds like a lot of fun! 8y

I have so often found comfort in this paperback over the past two decades, that it has become soft and tattered. It smells lovely, like ink and dust and heartache.

jeff Have to go with Poe! 9y
ChristieStratos That's a great quote from her. I love Keats. I get so absorbed in his imagery and wording. 9y
Victoria Yeats 9y
todd My daughter has me reading her a lot of Shel Silverstein these days. I'll vote for Shel. 9y
