The only thing I dislike about the Readathon is how it hammers home what a slow-ass reader I am compared to everyone else. I‘m at 2:54 of reading time, and I‘m still plugging away at A DUCHESS IN NAME. 25% to go.

I still like the book overall, but oof. The sex scenes are NOT my brand of hot. Maybe I‘ll make better time going forward if they keep coming and I‘ve gotta speed read through them. #readathon #deweyoct

I‘m Readathonning in my hideous but comfy onesie, with this little guy for company. Unfortunately, he ate some garbage last night and feels pretty durned poorly this morning.

Between looking after him, showering, putting laundry on, and doing the dishes, I‘ve managed 1:15 with A DUCHESS IN NAME. It‘s still great. Yay! #readathon #deweyoct

It‘s #readathon time, y‘all! This is my 25th, not counting the Reverse Readathons. I haven‘t missed a single one since September 2008, when I was a brand new blogger who wasn‘t sure if it was REALLY OKAY for me to participate.

I‘m glad I got over that hurdle.

Today, I‘ll start with the last 75% of A DUCHESS IN NAME.

Readerann 25! Wow! I‘ll have to count mine - I may not be too far behind you. 4y

I‘ve been suuuuuper busy this past week, but the Readathon‘s* tomorrow! Whee! I‘m gonna spend the whole day with books (and maybe an episode or two of JANE THE VIRGIN, since I‘ve started a rewatch and now I‘m obliged to watch quite a lot of it)!

Tonight, I pregamed with sorta-mapo tofu and the first few chapters of A DUCHESS IN NAME. I think it‘s gonna be a good ‘un.

*Dewey‘s 24-Hour, of course; the BEST readathon of all the readathons

Pickpick

I needed a little #romantsy tonight to help brush off the week. This was a solid historical although I found the ending to be abrupt. I admit to having a weakness for marriage of convenience plots. I will definitely seek out the others in the series.

nitalibrarian Marriage of convenience is my favorite in historicals. Even better if they marry and then don't see each other for years for whatever reason. Not sure why I love them. 7y
Jas16 @nitalibrarian I love that I am not alone in this because I cannot figure out for the life of me what it is about them that draws me to them. It seems like such an odd thing but it works for me. Let me know if you have any favorites that I need to read! 7y
nitalibrarian I really enjoyed The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne, Ravishing the Heiress by Sherry Thomas, and The Arrangement by Mary Balogh. Oh, and Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas, of course. 7y
Jas16 @nitalibrarian I will add the Highwayman to my TBR. I have read, and really enjoyed, the others. Thank you so much! (edited) 7y

For the next 10 days librarians on Twitter are tweeting their favorite 2016 published reads with the hashtag #libfaves16. I thought I would also post my picks each day here too.
A Duchess in Name is my first. Lovely series overall, but this one is my favorite with one of my favorite tropes - marriage of convenience. #romantsy

robinb Not familiar with this author. Will have to check this series out. Thanks! 8y
