Ready for the Next Round: Tapping the Power Within
Ready for the Next Round: Tapping the Power Within | MR Horace Hammonds Sr
1 post
This book teaches how to define ones self. The author believes that from the time you enter your mother's womb to the time you die, you are trying to get "Ready for the Next Round." He tells us that you want to get out of your mother's belly and onto her lap to get the nurturing and strength you need to get off her lap and on to the floor to crawl then, walk, talk and develop a personality like everyone else. We want to be like everyone else and be accepted. The problem is that there are things that happens to us even before we are born that precludes us from being like everyone else and we have absolutely no control of it. We cannot control our gender, race, height, health, whether our parents are rich, poor, educated or uneducated or if they are kind or mean. Even after we are born, there are things that happens to us that we have no control over. Our parents give us our name. As a teacher for many years I met female students with totally inappropriate names like, Vodka, Marijuana, and Tequila. One young man's name was Vivian. He was From South America where that name was interchangeable, like Stacey, Tracy or Leslie. As a result of these inappropriate names, there students were teased daily because of their parent's poor choices. Our parents also give us our belief system. Just because you believe something doesn't make it true. They also give us our religion. Just hope yours in one that is accepted by most people who live in your domain. Being different means getting "Ready for the Next Round."
