Yesterday I was able to tackle 2 goals! The "workout" was low impact cardio and then I followed it up with a kettle bell workout!

Feeling good still about #BFC #BFCr2 ! This day has been relaxing for me. This is my day of rest before I finish out my workout goals Wed & Thur.

Tagged book is what I'm currently reading! Book 3/15.

Hi #BFC #BFCR2 group! I'm really excited to join!

My book goal is to read 15 books in the 6 weeks.

Fitness goal is Weight exercise for 30 min / 4x at home. And Cardio exercise for 30 min / 2x at home every week.

I'm doing this truly for myself, and could use the help and support of others and am happy to do the same back.

Thanks @wanderinglynn 🤗

sudi You can do it 😊💪 5mo

Here is my MAY Wrap up!

I have had an awesome month of reading! Seriously, all of these were so freaking good and a bit of something for everyone! Poetry, verse style novels, thrillers, memoir, paranormal, contemporary, sci Fi...

Hard to choose a favorite but take note of My Lovely Wife (thriller) Loneliest Girl in the Universe (YA Contemp.) & The Test which is a sci Fi/thriller novella.

tracey38 I loved Dark Matter 5mo

If you're going to read any thriller this year, you'd be criminally missing out if this wasn't one of them.

“We look like a normal couple. We're your neighbors, the parents of your kid's friend, the acquaintances you keep meaning to get dinner with. We all have secrets to keep our marriage alive. Ours just happens to be getting away with murder“ Dexter meets Mr & Mrs Smith is an accurate portrayal of this thriller, and it was worth every second.

Late to the party!! But....

📚 Tagged book! And wow, it's a good one.
📚📚 I'm hoping to read Before She Knew Him by Peter Swanson. Or I'll dive into The Secret History by Donna Tartt.
📚📚📚 YOU by Caroline Kepnes on Netflix! It was so-so. As a survivor to stalking, it was hard to see it be so romanticized. But from an outside perspective, it was entertaining and I did like the book.

Thanks! @rachelsbrittain #weekendreads

Right after 9/11 & you have Shirin - a muslim girl entering in a new high school. You watch her traverse through this with her walls up high and unbreakable. Until she discovers a love for break dancing that brings her closer to her brother and meets a boy who looks past the racism named Ocean and trys to show her - not everyone wants to hurt her.

I cried like a baby. Multiple times. The words in here are so damn powerful. I'm left speechless.

I DNF'd. Why is it that Ng doesn't speak to me? I disliked Little Fires and while I can say I enjoyed this one more I just.... I didn't care.

Started great, writing good, story line promising but it didn't grab me. I ended up disappointed and fed up by pg 155 and thought no way I can continue. It was boring, same old tale of family dysfunction. No thanks

Whatever Ng writes next - I'm looking the other way.

LauraBeth Ng doesn‘t speak to me either for some reason. I didn‘t care for this book and bailed on Little Fires Everywhere. 8mo
JanuarieTimewalker13 I agree with you, I think I was borderline “pick” with this one and LFE was meh. She‘s def not the writer for me, either. I can‘t put my finger on exactly what it is, but I got sucked up in the hype. I am learning not to do that anymore. 8mo
Bklover I bailed on this as well. 8mo
akckitty @LauraBeth @JanuarieTimewalker13 it sucks, in a prior post of mine I was legitimately hyped because the first 30 pgs was captivating enough. But it's so damn boring, filled with cliches, and James / Marilyn the worst parents. I agree with you Januarie, I don't ever want to get pulled into a hype again 🙄 8mo

Look. Even if graphic novels aren't your thing. PLEASE make them a thing for this series! I crushed Vol 1 in a sitting.
It has everything.. A war, forbidden romance, violence, sex, sci Fi..... But to make everything better - the characters are downright awesome. Same with the world building.

Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to something really cool. This was out of my comfort zone to pick up since it's a comic but I'm not regretting it!

RamsFan1963 I've read vols 1-4, and I got 5&6 on Thursday. One of the best comic book series I've ever read. 8mo
akckitty @RamsFan1963 yes, I completely agree! I hope you're able to pick up 7 & 8 from your library soon!! I saw hold times at mine and decided against it and decided to splurge a little... I was hesitant to do so but obviously not a regret anymore! I only got up to the 5th one so I'll have to see how to get my hands on the rest! 8mo
TK421 This is one of the best series that I have ever read. Brian K Vaughan is a great writer, and he will really play on your emotions later. Enjoy the ride!😊 8mo

Oh my GOODNESS. This book... Takes you on such a journey that just made me cry one too many times considering it isn't a very long novel to begin with.

Highly, highly recommend if you have read Borne also by Jeff Vandermeer (also one of my all time favorite books. Seriously. If you're into Weird New fiction read it) but this novella is great as a stand alone too!

Brb, looking for a new tissue box. Favorite book of 2019 🤘

Readergrrl Wow! I‘m sold on your review alone! I have Borne on my TBR pile right now! I‘ll have to get this one too! 9mo
akckitty @Readergrrl Jeff Vandermeer has to be my favorite author for eco-fiction / sci Fi / fantasy / new weird realms ever. Borne is amazing! I really hope you enjoy it. Strange Bird takes place during same time period-ish of Borne and is an amazing companion to it. It's a heart breaking read, especially once you're at the end and realize the purpose of Strange Birds journey! 9mo

Hey, Littens! How has everyone been? I'm back (again) from a few months hiatus. My depression and anxiety was very severe, and I needed a lot of time to heal. It's manageable right now.

In other news, this is my third book of the month I'm starting! I picked up Silkworm but thought best to start with this, the first detective novel for Cormoran Strike ;)

Has anyone read it? Thoughts / opinions? And Happy Sunday as well 😊

Libby1 ❤️❤️❤️ (((Big Hugs))) I understand. I‘m glad you‘re back. I like this series. I think the third one is the best so far, but haven‘t read Lethal White yet. 10mo
BooksAtNight Sorry to hear that things were rough but I‘m glad you feel better, enough to come back! The plot is slow (it‘s more character driven than anything) and Strike got on my nerves a lot but I ended up really enjoying it by the end since the characters felt really fleshed out. 10mo
SamanthaMarie Glad you are back! Depression and anxiety are a true bitch (sorry for the swear.) Glad you have been able to read! I want to read this sometime. When my super bad panic disorder developed I started to read this book and when the person dies from an aneurysm at the very beginning it freaked me out terribly so I never got past that page. 10mo

akckitty @SamanthaMarie the spoiler comment is for you in case it didn't tag you right 10mo
akckitty @Libby1 and @BooksAtNight this one is ok so far for me! But @BooksAtNight I can see how you find him annoying at times. He's kind of a bit extra personality. @Libby1 I'm excited to continue through the series. 10mo
CaramelLunacy I really enjoy this series (though the silkworm was weakest in my opinion), though I get how Strike isn't everyone's cup of tea! 10mo
erzascarletbookgasm Glad things are much better and manageable, good to have you back. 💗 I‘ve read the first three in this series, liked them a lot...some find this slow in the earlier parts, I find it ok. I didn‘t like the second (Silkworm) and the third is my favourite! 10mo
UwannaPublishme Glad you‘re back and so happy you‘re on a healing path. Big hugs to you. 🤗❤️ 10mo
akckitty @CaramelLunacy I can also understand that. So far from what I can tell, overall consensus is that Silkworm was the least favorite. But that happens so I'll hold on through the series since I like the core of it so far 😊 10mo
akckitty @UwannaPublishme thank you ❤️ that means a whole lot to me. 10mo

Life has gotten in the way, more than I care to admit, from the things I love doing. Reading & Litsy being some. So heres my first post in a long while.

inthegreensandblues I also just got in a library hold of An Unwanted Guest. Unfortunately it is the Unwanted Book until I finish my current read. 😋 Hopefully I'll start it this weekend! Also Baby Teeth sounds really creepy! 14mo
AmyG I‘m dying to read Rust & Stardust. Baby Teeth is super creepy. 14mo
Kaye I haven‘t read any of them but my rule is to start with the skinniest first and work my way up. Not much of an answer but it works for me. 14mo
Alfoster Baby Teeth is good! But reviews are all over the place! Think Bad Seed but creepier! 14mo
Melli Go with baby teeth 14mo
akckitty @Kaye funnily enough, that is what I typically I do! I guess I felt like I needed the help because all of these have been on my TBR for so long, haha. 14mo
akckitty @Lovesbooks87 @AmyG @Alfoster @Melli settles it, I‘ll start with Baby Teeth first! Thank you all for your input! ☺️ 14mo
akckitty @inthegreensandblues baby teeth does sound creepy so it‘ll be first for me. Your comment made me laugh. Maybe we‘ll both end up getting to it around the same time then! 14mo
akckitty @FantasyChick rust & stardust has been high on my TBR list for quite some time so I‘m looking forward to it! Seems the majority of people liked it :) 14mo
akckitty @Lovesbooks87 also thank you! I feel like with this selection I can‘t really go wrong. 14mo

Jemgirl2014 @akckitty Most definitely! Writing mini reviews on here is almost as much fun as reading the actual book lol. 14mo

akckitty @ShelleyBooksie i thought the book was pretty good! It was a great popcorn-style thriller writing. I‘d personally rate it around 3.5 ⭐️ closer to 4 ⭐️ :) 14mo

Ugh, it‘s just SO GOOD. Finally, a book that was deserving of the hype to me ;)

#cabinattheendoftheworld #readingallday #moreyeahthanmeh #almostfinished #blameitonlitsy

TheBookStacker I read it in one sitting, compulsively readable. 1y
akckitty @TheBookStacker that‘s it, exactly! I‘m just about finished! (As I‘m sure you could tell) ☺️ 1y
JamieArc I don‘t think I should have laughed as much as I did at that sentence... 😂🤣😂 1y
akckitty @JamieArc it made me giggle too, after the fact. All the suspense doesn‘t make it seem so bad when you‘re in it Lol 😂 1y

Borne: A Novel | Jeff VanderMeer
post image

This is based around Rachel, and her relationship with Wick, an ex employee at the Company & how they‘re surviving in a ruined city controlled by a deformed creature named Mord, a biotech mishap created by The Company. Rachel then meets Borne, an ever growing, shape shifting creature who learns how to speak. When their territory is threatened and livelihood, Borne does everything he can to protect Rachel and Wick, including risking his own life.

akckitty I feel like mentioning that I am very sad that this book is over. If I could erase my memory to experience it all over again, I would. I feel that I grew very close to the characters and I will miss reading the antics of Borne and Rachel. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 1y

In honor of the National Read A Book Day... I have read 2 books and starting on a 3rd ☺️

Letting Go of Gravity ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Someone I Used to Know ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What are you all reading today, Littens? ❤️

Stacy_31 Three in one day?! How do you all read so fast? I‘m lucky if I can get three into one month sometimes. 😬😬 1y
akckitty @Stacy_31 I always feel like I‘m reading more slow compared to everyone else on here too 😩 I‘m only getting so much done because I‘ve had the entire day to read so it‘s been a very lazy day for me lol otherwise I‘m in the same boat as you most months! (edited) 1y

2 Degrees | Bev Prescott
post image

Unfortunately, this was not a post apocalyptic story that I got attached to. When her wife, Eve, is taken from her, Sharon sets out to find her. Encountering some interesting personalities along the way. Bev Prescott is great at setting up the plot / scenery to make you feel like you are there. But I felt that everything else lacked… I almost DNF this one. The story dragged on, and I‘m glad that it‘s over. 😕

I am off to a GREAT start this month with book reading! Here is all that I‘ve read so far:

Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian - ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Annihilation - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2.

The Other Side of Everything - ⭐️⭐️⭐️

2 Degrees - ⭐️ (I almost DNF this one)

Exit West - ⭐️⭐️

Borne - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2.

I will post up some reviews when I have time!

Anyone else having a good reading month so far???

Beachesnbooks Yes! Although definitely not as many books as you--that's impressive! I finished Yes We (Still) Can by Dan Pfeiffer, 4⭐️, and am reading/loving Record of a Spaceborn Few at the moment 1y
jillannjohn Wow! In 5 days! Amazing! 1y
Bookjunkie57 I wish mine was going that well. I‘m hot/cold on one book, about to DNF another and can‘t settle on an audiobook to listen to. 1y

CouronneDhiver Goodness! Great work. I‘m still plugging away on several. None finished yet. 1y
akckitty @Beachesnbooks I really enjoyed Yes We Still Can by Dan Pfeiffer myself! Glad to hear your month is going good so far ☺️ thanks for sharing ❤️ 1y
akckitty @jillannjohn I was thankful to have had very little Labor Day weekend plans. It contributed to this list so far. Wondering if I can keep it up! Hope your reading is going well :) 1y
akckitty @Bookjunkie57 ugh, book ruts like that suck! I feel that‘s what I was experiencing last month. I hope it changes around for you!! ❤️ 1y
akckitty @CouronneDhiver I give my thanks to the long weekend ;) I‘m jealous you‘re able to work on multiple at once though! I feel I can only concentrate on one at a time. I can‘t vary, even if one is physical and one is audiobook :/ (edited) 1y
RavenLovelyReads Wow! I just finished my fist book for the month 😳 1y
