pickI'd read a few of the Roderick Alleyn mysteries, and since Golden Age mysteries have been some of the only things I can focus on these days, I've decided to read the rest in order. This is the first in the series, and is not the best (the solution is rather far fetched, tbh,) but it's still rather fun watching Alleyn work it out. Troy has not been introduced yet, but we do meet Nigel and Angela, as well as Alleyn's delightful mother, Lady Alleyn.

Congratulations to all the #24in48 readathoners, I've been seeing how well everyone has done in my feed! I managed a measly 6 hours, but finished a book and a graphic novel and made good progress through a mystery, so I'm quite pleased! I enjoyed taking part and that's the main thing 😀
Just finished this book. Liked it a lot especially the characters. They were very relatable. I almost felt like I could be described as an Angela. Would recommend to those that like #mysteries #24in48
pickThis was my first Ngaio Marsh and I wish I'd read her sooner. Sharp, sardonic and clever, this puts a stylish spin on the classic house-party murder mystery. No wonder she's one of the queens of classic crime. Perfect for a rainy evening. It's a cozy with a bit of bite and I really enjoyed it.
