Threadbare Volume One
Threadbare Volume One: Stuff and Nonsense | Andrew Seiple
4 posts | 3 read | 2 to read
Meet Threadbare. He is twelve inches tall, full of fluff, and really, really bad at being a hero. Magically animated and discarded by his maker as a failed experiment, he is saved by a little girl. But she's got problems of her own, and he might not be able to help her. Fortunately for the little golem, he's quick to find allies, learn skills, gain levels, and survive horrible predicaments. Which is good, because his creator has a whole lot of enemies... Warning: Contains profanity and violence.

Extremely enjoyable! Loved the narration and the story is great. Who wouldn‘t want a teddy bear who comes to life and helps fight battles with you! This is my first adult book completed for #teamharkness and #scarathlon2020 for 16 points. It also part of my #screamathon and #bookspinbingo card. I‘m using this for #bottomofyourtbr for #booked2020 as it was the first audiobook I wanted to listen to because the narration was highly recommended.

Updated #bookspin because I finished one book plus signed up for the Hocus Pocus reading challenge on Twitter! Plus the two books added fit better for #teamharkness! I‘m also excited for the #cyoreadathon starting tomorrow as well. I‘m kicking October off with the tagged audiobook and Pumpkin Heads! So excited for tomorrow!

TheAromaofBooks Yay!!! It's always fun when you get caught up in the excitement and can't wait to start reading! 😂 4y

The narration of this book is fantastic! I love the MC, Threadbare, who is an animated toy Golem, given a soul on accident. He‘s sweet, innocent, and just wants to be with his family. The story is really fun, some great puns, a fun RPG concept, and unique world building. I highly recommend. 4/5 stars, read if you enjoy humorous fantasy and the Toy Story movies

abookishbutterfly Hi! I am really interested in this book! Goodreads warns about violent content, which I am guessing is to make sure people understand that it is not a children‘s book but I do want to inquire further about that. Mild violence is okay for me. It‘s not terribly gory, is it? 6y
iread2much @Butterflyamore I didn‘t find it particularly violent, if you are ok with the Harry Potter books, i think this should be fine. 😄 6y
abookishbutterfly @iread2much I‘ve never read Harry Potter but I‘m guessing that‘s pretty mild so I think this will work for me. Thanks! 6y
iread2much @Butterflyamore I‘m glad to be helpful! They do get much more violent in the later books, but the first one is mild. 6y
